It is much easier to relocate in a remote part of the world than to consider moving and building underground. I'm always in with guys like mav, Brent, jonte ,jim and arcticdude. You guys are so much like me I trust most of you guys greatly, maybe not because of the amount of your preps ,but because you prep. I dont know , but I see the effort yall put into it, and I know the work it takes to do it, so this is a tip of my hat to you guys. Effort is worth more than skill and knowledge to me, but you guys aren't lacking that either. My hats of to you, and if any of you guys ever need a hand , shoot me a line
I would be proud to be with a group of these and several others on this forum. Sorry we're all scattered so far apart. Let's all hope we won't need our preps this coming year.

I'd rather put the efforts in to my preps and don't need them for that, but if push comes to poop in the fan,I'll have some to rely on.
and as bill harrel said for his part, applies here too, ever get stranded in my neck of woods,I'll help,my place ain't a palace, but it will keep you warm and provide a warm meal and some company :)

The problem is when you have one person in charge. That power tends to go to a persons head eventually. Then they want to be sleeping with all the women and forcing you to drink cool aide.

Too true, too true....

yes, there will always be some one who thinks they should be in charge, I cant be doing with that. i'm better off on my own anyway, always have been.

Paul, you must've met my frickin brother in law. A waste of air if I ever saw one.... fortunately, he's 1000 miles away, almost far enough, lol.

Communities would be fine though I prefer trading posts but in SHTF/WROL security to and from these places would be a nightmare to say the least, even going gray. Highwaymen would saturate every road and paths... Too many people creates loose lips!

That is the challenge, isn't it?

To me, the best defense to that would be that the goods offered by the trading post require knowledge and skills to continually produce. So, you'd be better off dealing (for continuous resources) than a one time raid costing men and resources.

get what you need NOW don't wait until after SHTF to hope someone else has what you want and you might be able to trade for it.
if you cant get it then either learn to make or repair one(or two) for yourself, if you cant do that then learn to live without it.
life post collapse will be more basic and simple than you realise and you wont need half of what you think you will.
