In the truck, a .22 revolver six-shooter (yeah, it isn't a powerhouse, but I can carry a LOT of ammo). On my actual person, multi-tool with knife and a Swiss Army knife. I seriously doubt anything would happen in the 20' between my building and the truck, but you never know.

I realize most people can't carry into the workplace, even in gun-friendly states, so in-your-vehicle I suppose counts. That opens the possibility of a rifle or shotgun so "Other Handgun" should be "Other Firearm." I don't think I can change it though.

I have my 9mm at least in the glovebox if I can't carry on me, I also have it on my bedside table at night. I also have a multi tool at all times. If you get down to it a pen or pencil can be a good weapon in a pinch. If you're aware of your surroundings you can find weapons all over the place, like rocks, sticks, etc.

Nothing for me, although I do have a multi-tool in the car, I could use the pliers to twist an attacker's nose.

I may up the ante one day but really in my rural area there's almost no reason to even think about self defence...at least right up until the time you need to :)

9mm P.A. in the car or in the woods. I got attacked by other dogs and wild boar before. 9mm bang ammo keeps them on distance after a warning shot. (Non lethal ammo)
Multitool and Victorinox go wherever I go.

umbrella ella ella eh eh ....

I carry an Umbrella and high powered LED Flash light. Its illegal to carry firearms where I am from.

I like revolvers. Less to break on them. So a good SHTF choice. Plus, if I can't kill something with 6 shots, I pretty much deserve what I get....LOL.

Seriously though, I keep a .22 revolver in my GHB/BOB, just because I can carry a LOT of ammo for it. May not have a lot of punch, but it'll do the job, and I'm a pretty decent shot with it reflexively (i.e. without aiming). Plus, it won't be near the report of a larger handgun, so more unnoticed.

Gazrok have you seen the new Ruger Birds Head Bearcat "Shopkeeper"? Nifty pack gun if there ever was one! It's a distributor special right now, and in high demand. I hope they put it in their main lineup.

I think any thing you can afford is a good option. The way the world is getting, I think not having something to protect yourself is a bad idea. Go to a local gun shop and ask what the oldest and cheapest thing you can get if you have to, you can always trade up later on as you can afford.

Normally I don't leave home much and there are a lot of different things in my home for protection. When I do go out, I have a really heavy mag light for bashing in heads. Not much good in a gun fight, though. I tend to avoid crowded places whenever possible.

Note: I do NOT physically carry the flashlight. It stays in my truck. There are also 2 in my house.

I have one of the heavy mag lights on my night side table, right next to the 9mm. Just in case I need to see who I just shot! Just kidding, but I bet the light would hurt like heck upside someone's head.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a cheap place to buy bear spray? I've heard it's just like peppers pray but sprays a lot farther out. I googled it, but was suprised at 60 bucks.

I have my CCL,but I don't carry everyday as I don't really feel the need due to being in a rural community.Even our closest city is a small one with an extremely low gun crime rate. But I do keep GHB's with a .380 in my wifes suv and a 9mm in my suv.

I am also a collector and if I go somewhere that I feel the need to carry,it changes by the day as to which one I might take with me.I also bounce back and forth between semi's,wheel guns and derringers (usually depending on what i'm wearing).

However,I did pick this one up about a month ago and it is quickly becoming a favorite truck gun of mine.I've had it out a few times now and she's a real smooth operator.S&W 39-2
