Example; Ginseng for fibromyalgia, Kava Kava for tension headaches and neuropathic pain, St. John's Wort for sciatica, arthritis, and neuropathic pain, Valerian root for spasms and muscle cramps, Clove for toothaches.

Some people use cannabis oil or smoke it. Like modern medicine, medicinal plants carry the same warnings and generally shouldn't be mixed with modern medicine unless proven to co-exist, many many good books out their on this subject. Keep in mind medicinal plants not only can cause harm but also kill.

Some local plants we use on the West coast can be deadly on the East coast so be extremely cautious when seeking natural medicinal plants on the internet and don't trust posted pictures.

Look into Opium Lettuce (Lactuca virosa).

It's supposedly legal.

Also, there are ways to make nitrous oxide laughing gas at home, but I feel (as an ex-paramedic) that the process is dangerous and may lead to accidental suffocation.

It supposedly involves cooking ammonium nitrate in a frying pan under a plastic garbage bag to catch the gas, but I don't know for sure.

Also, I've read (from Tom Brown Jr.) that the sap from a cattail can be used to address dental pain if applied topically. Look in his book Edible and Medicinal Wild Plants for details.

I also believe Datura stramonium (thornapple) can be used to induce surgical anesthesia, but I must be clear: this plant is, potentially, quite deadly. If you use this plant, make damn sure that you know what you're doing because death and permanent brain damage are real possibilities.

Many forms of datura grow all over the U.S. in disturbed soils.

D. metel
D. stramonium
D. ferox
D. inoxia

And so on.

They are sometimes called "Devil's Trumpets".
