I wonder what exactly the North Koreans did to this kid. They say whatever it was...it caused oxygen to be cut off from his brain resulting in permanent brain damage.

We probably will never know what really happened here. This entire incident smells kinda strange. Firstly if the kid really did what the N. Koreans say he did...well I'm sorry but that wasn't very intelligent of him.

I don't believe he deserved to die for his alleged actions obviously. However what did you think was going to happen? This is North Korea we're talking here...not Tibet.

Chances are he didn't do what they say he did. Either way he paid with his life...unfortunately.

I wonder what they really did to him though. There weren't any marks on his body supposedly. They say this was the result of a sleeping pill. Yeah right.

just give me the name of the pill,so I can warn all here, some potent pill.

This is what the North Koreans are saying. They didnt reveal a specific brand name. We know whatever they gave him...it likely wasnt a sleeping pill.

Prolly waterboarding him to excess, its a practice that has been used by far eastern nations for centuries, its just one of many notable Chinese water tortures, leaves no marks and is good for extracting confessions. Sadly torture is still used by many countries on dissidents and political prisoners

I felt bad for the kid & especially his family. . . only 22 at sentencing? He was a young kid that did something very stupid. People at that age he rethink about the consequences, just out to ha be fun and probably thought it was a joke, until he got caught. You could see the remorse during his sentencing. . . he should he very had to pay for this crime with his life. The current administration can be praised for getting this both home so his family could see him & touch him, expressing their love for him before his passing . Just breaks my heart. The other just let it go without real even trying. . .if only things could have happened then. Maybe different a out come.

It's quite obvious that the testimony given by Otto was written by the N.Koreans regardless of whether or not he did what they say he did.

With that being said it becomes apparent that they weren't about to let him come home...realizing full well that this would be revealed as soon as he returned.

It could be that the White House pressured them into releasing him so they did...their way. They just made a statement pretty much saying they won't be pressured.

This kid died because of politics. It's really sad and unfortunate.

Man oh man this is awkward. Dennis Rodman seems to believe he is responsible for Otto being returned home prior to his death. Wouldn't it be ironic if it were true? He tried arranging meeting with Ottos father...and the father refused.

Did you see where that professor from I believe Delaware said he got exactly what he deserved. . . just sickening
that she is allowed to teach kids. Nobody deserves that kind of treatment for stealing a banner. . . apparently she is the type of person who loves spewing hate!

unfortunately, this is something politicians usually use as an excuse to start some major crap..

I really think China would like for us to take out kim and his pansy army . They would make a public opposition and waite to see what they get out of it .

it kinda starting to look that way,NK has become a liabilty and a big bag of troubles to China
