new to prepping

hey from utah im new to prepping, but the state i live and the culture preaches provident living. so im figuring if anything happens to the government or there is social unrest. i would like to be ready.

I’m using a 5.11 Tactical Moab 10, until I find something I like better. I keep quite a lot in there for edc.

Here, anyway, there are a lot of tactical bags used every day.

However, I don’t think I’d use a military looking pack for a bug out bag...

military bags, especially camo bags stand out too much in a city, same with camo or military looking clothing, you want to blend in as much as possible, looking different makes you a target.

I live 5 miles from Fort Benning. Military style bags are everywhere.

camo is everywhere around here in the countryside, its normal work clothing, but in a city it would stand out too much and draw attention.

I’m 20 min from town and 45-60 from the city. Camo is the norm here where I live, but the city I don’t think I would have an issue since I’m not up there very often.

IMHO Camo is for just when you are out hunting. It is not a fashion statement. My EDC bag is just a simple black backpack. Works just fine in the city or in the rural area's. Camo may not rise eyebrows in the countryside but it still catches the eye. If you are a hunter, then you will be checking out the pattern to see if it would do a good job of concealment. If you are a non-hunter - snowflake, then you will be wondering why a camo bag and does it have a gun in it. Just a basic bag will get the job done. Want to get fancy, drop in a ballistic plate.
