This is one thing I sure don't miss. I've got 3 retired veterans working for me, avg about 60 years old. They move slow. They work slow. They chat a bit much.

But I'll take those 100 times over before a brat. I don't hear the whining. I don't hear every week how they deserve a raise. I don't hear the drama. Two are married to their wives of 3+decades, the third is married to 2nd wife for over a decade. So no 'significant other' baloney. No 'baby daddy' stuff. No showing up drunk. No excuses for not showing up for work: if they want to take a day off they tell me & that's that (note zero paid vacation time, it's all part-time work). No liberal babble from anyone.

"8 like...in the morning 8?" - Priceless....

Unfortunately that is about what happens at my wife’s cafe. Hiring mostly kids in high school or college students home for the summer. They are all liberal and most are terrible employees we have had a couple good ones but not often.
