Johannesburg, Soweto Run Out of Water as South Africa’s Utilities Face Collapse

Johannesburg and the large township of Soweto nearby have been forced to endure several days without water as electricity problems have knocked out pumping stations and a late summer heat wave has strained reservoirs.

Residents have been forced to rely on bottled water as local utilities have turned down water pressure, or turned off water completely. And outside Johannesburg’s wealthier, leafy suburbs, spare water has been in short supply.

MEANWHILE CLOSER TO HOME...
Bear with me a minute while I give a little background....
Jackson, Mississippi Mayor Chokwe Lumumba was the vice president of the "Republic of New Africa" which is a black separatist organization that seeks to create an "African Country" out of the Deep South. His son, Chokwe Antar Lumumba is the current mayor of Jackson.

Now to some headlines not too long ago about Lumumba's "African City":

Jackson water system is failing, city will be with no or little drinking water indefinitely

The drinking water system in Jackson — Mississippi’s largest city and home to more than 160,000 residents — is failing, state officials announced on Monday. Thousands of Jackson residents already have no or little water pressure, and officials cannot say when adequate, reliable service will be restored.

The city water system has been plagued with problems for years, including tens of thousands of residents losing water between one and three weeks during a 2021 winter storm.

Is it just me, or are there some dots to connect here? 🤔

The comments about South Africa are understated , vast sections of the country go without over long periods of time , i store 40.000 lt of rain water in tanks to use in my house , that sees me through the dry months , I bought my first 5.000 lt tank back in 2008 was told then that problems are on the way , increased each year until i could get through the dry times , have today finished an upgrade on my solar system , gone from 5 kw ( 15 panels ) to 10 kw (now 24 panels ) inverter from 4.6 kw to 10 kw , batteries still 19.2 kw Lithium , looking to see later what can i do here ( need more cash ) , i have often thought of the fibre glass storage tanks used at fuel stations , to clean out , bury , if i had place for one, would be ideal for grey water , back in 2017 i transported into our community on my Unimog , over 200.000 lt ( 2500 lt per load )in 12 days ,because of striking workers , wanton destruction is a big problem , they do it to themselves

I 'liked' your post, but not for the consequences. It's unbelievable really. I know it's happened in dire circumstances before, like those airline passengers downed in the Andes, but I get the feeling the black races there simply reverting to type. Business as usual.
