I was reading about this group of guys that fight in the British army that are famous for a fighting knife called a kukri I got interested in it and got to reading what I could find and a lot of the stuff I found said they were like a x between a Bowie knife and a tomahawk just wondering if anyone knows anything about how they do as a fighting knife mostly just out of curiosity since I started doing hand to hand training I am saving up for a g.i toanto for a first time fighting knife but some of the guys that have done it longer use some pretty big knives so after some time I might be looking for a bigger knife so I was wondering if anyone might know about the two I found from my reading one is called the American eagle made by a place called kukri house and the other was by condor called the heavy duty kukri

little something about this knife for you, sure you will find tons of stuff on youtube, but you will also find wannabe kukri fighters.

Cool thanks guys would love to have all the information I can get one of the big things I was wondering are they just slash and chop knives or can they stab to I have heard both ways

would think it's all about training.
but then again we have that blade dude here,so pm Roninsensei for a quick answer.

OK I have been doing more research and I like what I see I found out depending on how they are made they can be a good staber but the last thing I was wondering is since a lot of times they are are comparid to a tomahawk would the chopping aingles that the tomahawk uses would work with the kurkri I know that it would not work with the hook and pull would not work with the kurkri the reason I ask is not too many people know anything about the kurkri but I have done training with the tomahawk and was thinking a lot of the same stuff should work

I was going to tell the story about the patrol of Gurkahs grinning ear to ear returning to camp after all night patrol each holding up severed heads of the enemy and bloody kurkhri to impress thier British commander . Then I realized this is a old post .
