I was a bum most of today, eating and watching tv too much. Anyways, saw the movie Lone Survivor with Mark Whalburg. Based on a true story where a mission in Afghanistan went really bad against the taliban. Really good story, recommend it to anyone! It even goes to show that all Muslims aren't bad, contrary to current sentiment in our country.

Right on! Absolutely, good for you! It's a good thing to just kick back, clear your head & do nothing once in a while. Yeah, that's a great movie. Good choice on that one.
And of course, you're right that not all Muslims are bad, just like not all of any particular group are bad. But...contrary to other popular sentiments...profiling is not such a bad thing to do. A little bit of prejudice (as opposed to out-right bigotry) can be a prudent safety measure.
So...whatcha gonna watch next??

Today I have a huge list of things to catch up on, so no more movies for a bit!
Yes, you are right, profiling does work. I think it's worth offending some to be safe. After 9/11 they would take away nitting needles from old ladies flying on planes. No one ever had an old lady making a scarf hijack a plane. Why waste the time on that when you can focus the effort on the group most likely to be the problem. We went way too PC in the world, now we may be going to far the other way though. Aren't there any politicians that are middle of the road and use common sense?

Your right, little old lady's don't hijack planes. Neither do 5 year old kids. Profiling works. The last thing that I care about is offending some POS from the middle east. I personally don't think that we've gone anywhere near far enough yet.

I am profiled and searched frequently when I am pulled over on the roads. I don't even bother flying on airplanes any more because of the looks and treatment I receive.

I understand though. How does the saying go? One bad apple ruins the whole bunch. I just hope that some day I am allowed to fit in, for the sake of my young family. Predjudice against people who look like me appears to be getting worse all the time though.

I enjoyed that movie as well. I didn't like it as much as some other war movies, but it was very solid.
