Strip the paint, add a gun blue finish, convex the blade and make it sharp as hell, add more grip to the handle if you like, and then make a kydex sheath for it. Then let you loose on my 20 acres to destroy random trees.

What is your opinion on the Kopis Machete by Cold Steel?

Its a reasonably good machete. It doesn't have the same ability to heavy chop like the jungle machete and is pretty much a fighter. I owned one for about a year and gave it to a friend. He does landscaping and loves it.

Thanks for the quick response.
I was asking as I got an email from Cold Steel and in the email it is going for $9.99.
I would use it primarily in the desert with sage brush and the like.

for such horizontal logs, best to turn your back to it, and cut away from yourself. If you do this on both sides, it will require fewer swings, cause you'll not have to cut such a wide kerf.
