Is it racist if it's true

If it's said by a White person, according to the liberal media and certin demographics, then it would be "racist". But according to me, the truth or an opinion, is never "racist". Plus I don't give a shit whether someone considers something that I say is racist. That's their problem. I'm sick of certin groups of people playing the race card, or pretending to be a victim. Grow up and get a life and a job.
I think that is their job in some cases.

White people spend far too much time worrying about whether something is perceived to be "racist". I've got more important things to think about than if something that I say can be twisted to be "racist" by some thin skinned wimp who's looking to play the victim. I'm not about to make excuses for anything my ancestors did. Yes, some own slaves. So what? Get over it. Maybe it's time we all just ignore these crybabies.....

It is not so simple as that, though. I was raised in a white suburb and didn’t even go to school with any Black students until junior high. But I have been educated on perceptions... that mine, because of the isolation, did not understand how different life would be if I wasn’t born white. Recently the racism of the US has been more and more emboldened, and underscores that a deep rooted racism does exist, and up to recently, I was unaware on how bad it is. Just look at posts in Facebook if you want to waste some time. I am not calling anyone here racist, just pointing out that understanding is critical. I cannot say that my life now would be anywhere like it is if I were Black or Hispanic or Muslim. I have experienced blatant sexism both bad, and actually sort of good as I probably didn’t get tickets because I was female.

I would think that you can agree that racism exists, right? So the backlash of injustice is at least in part justified. When it is not ok for athletes to peacefully take a knee to highlight innocent people getting killed and it is ok for violence to be done on people of color for no reason (using a cell phone in a back yard, purchasing a toy gun for a child, etc.) then we do have a problem that needs to be addressed and studied. I guess my point is that we can’t just think that the playing field is level for all.

That's out of the lefts talking points. Racism is no where at the levels it was when I was a kid, My school principle was the king kleagle of the kkk, I remember seeing black hung from telephone pole, whites only signs. It's not even close to that period or before. The one's making noise about race are the white apologist and certain groups facilitated by left leaning media.

kneeling when the National Anthem is played is a slap in the face of the Fallen and should be condemned, their is a time and place to protest, kneeling during the Anthem isn't one of.

I think you are misunderstanding the meaning of the protests. Numerous veterans have come out supporting the athletes right to protest. It is not about the flag or veterans, nor disrespecting the flag. If it were about these things, why are people wearing flags on their butts, sitting on flags , etc. ? There are a lot more disrespectful things happing that apparently are ok.. like cutting veterans benefits, perhaps?

This is all nonsence, its used for ulterior motives. Slavery was and is a political condition, thats still being utilized today. Bigotry and so called racism is a symtom that occurs from this condition. In the US the vast majority negativly affected by this condition the most was dark skinned people brought from africa. There were and are some blacks that still benifit from this condition. 99.9% all belong to the same political party.

Since my husband is involved in sports, and hos co host of 15 years is black, our daughter grew up around their children.

When my daughter started kindergarten, there was one black person in class. One day she was telling me about him and I didn't remember which child he was. She said "you know him mom, he has a really dark tan". I just left it at that.

Later, say middle school, she heard the racist remarks made by other children, that's where she learned about racism.

I have no idea why this popped into my head. I guess just to bore you.

Racist is what you do or what you say, not who you are. I attended schools that were 80% + black. These kids got the same opportunity to learn I did, many if not most chose to toss this chance out the window. It is not racist people who are holding blacks down or back in life. It is their culture of playing the victim and choosing the life of welfare and single parent families. There in nothing that says anyone is owned anything in life. You get what your earn and learn. Excuses are only good for those that make the excuses. Get it done or get out of the way but quit whining about how tough life is. Quitters will always find reasons or excuses why they failed and very seldom is the reason themselves. It was too hot or too cold or the teacher did not like me or the judge was unfair or, or, or. But never I did not try hard enough or I was too lazy to finish the task. Victim or Competitor, that is the choice in life.

MY opinoin: You kneel during the National Anthem, you are scum. There a a million ways to protest without disrespecting OUR NATIONAL ANTHEM! JM2C

You know what is genuinely racist? Assuming someone of a particular race is incapable on their own of succeeding in anything and giving them special advantages over people of other races JUST BASED ON RACE. Tell me how that is not blatantly racist!!!! Capable, intelligent black people should be offended by that!

Don't even get me started on affirmative action. I could not get a job when I first graduated from college because I was white. White Privilege my arse!

When did they pass out the white privilege? Because I NEVER GOT ANY!!!

Trying to make me into a self loathing "privileged" white person just infuriates me to no end.

Consider where you might be if you were not white and honestly answer... would you be in the exact same life if you were, no difference?

No Doreena, absolutely not. I majored in Math and minored in Secondary Education. I wanted to be a high school math teacher. There were several openings in the public schools, but I was told that because I was white, they could not hire me - EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE NO OTHER APPLICANTS!
If I had been black I would have had my pick of jobs...not just in education but in industry. When I couldn't get a job teaching I went to the employment office and was basically told the same thing. Xerox had eight openings that I was qualified for...except for my color. I asked the lady at the employment office "Isn't that discrimination?" She just said "Yes" and shrugged.

Not being able to do what I wanted, I struggled for years going from one job to another. I finally decided to go back to school. When I graduated from grad school SAME THING!

Reverse discrimination is one of the reasons I am not a college professor. I taught at Tuskegee as a visiting professor, but when I applied for a permanent position, they balked at my (very modest) salary requirements because they didn't want a white professor making that much money at a black school.

So no Doreena. My life was completely turned upside down by reverse discrimination. Had I known that ahead of time, I would have made drastically different choices about my major in college.

Doc is 100% right. I have had very similar experiences. Had I been a proper minority (aka black, or something that gets a good 'tick' mark for 'equal opportunity' stuff), I would have easily made 20% more salary. Easily. And promotions would have been laid at my feet. Me being the 'wrong' race has cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars in my past career.

And in the same decades, I've seen incompetent minority employees get promoted far past their abilities all in the name of 'equal opportunity' and far better qualified 'white guys' get ignored because of two reasons: 'white' and 'guy'... now that is true racism and sexism. Reality is that this behavior actually hurts minorities and everyone else. It builds anger, the guy getting over-promoted can't feel good about how he's underperforming, and it doesn't help the company.

How old are you Doreena? Do you have any real world experience? Or just school brain-washing where they do their best to teach you to never think for yourself?

Absolutely right. I think this crap is for the express purpose of creating racial strife, not ending it.
