My son's dog is a gentle giant, but she is big and a puppy (part Bull Mastiff and part Great Dane).
He put Styrofoam covers on his outside pipes and she massacred them. Are there any other ways to protect pipes that are big dog friendly?

That is a good idea. I am going to stop off at Lowes on the way home from work. That should work. Thanks!

I'm thinking this will be like how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop.

I think the foam cover is a good start, it 'does the job'. But then it needs protection. Block access with something. A trash can? Yard chairs?

I framed out around the outdoor plumbing..theres a 4x4 behind the fachet and pipe.1x8 on each side.and across the front.i insulated with the foam in a aresol can.

For a long term fix you can swap your outside faucets with the frost proof type of faucets. I've never wrapped any of my outside faucets before, even in Alaska. I've had water lines freeze and break that were buried over 12 feet deep, but never had a faucet freeze.

Cut a slit in some bigger diameter PVC and use it like a sleeve (over the foam covered pipe)
