It's a matter of time Brent, too many laymen and doctors see and treat influenza as the common cold or everyday flu, doctors generally don't react until it becomes pneumonia particularly with the poorer population. It's the whole nonchalant attitude... how many people sneeze/cough that touch door handle.

At our hospitals and clinics here they post out front mask, gloves, hand sanitizer and kleenex, if you go inside hardly anyone uses them. Lack of hygiene and common sense are by far the largest contributor to the death rate than any other contributing factor to practically any endemic, epidemic and pandemic outbreaks.

just saw a documentary about disasters today and this Spanish flu was among the top killers of all time as the esimate was up to 100 million dead ones from this..
but nothing like this can happen now as all is sweet and peachy..or could it???

right now when I'm working at the hospital,it usually slows down with the flu,but not this year,it just keeps on going, they test the patient,it's negative on A,
patient is sent to the ER ward and an hour later that same patient is tested positive for B and the whole room is under quarrantine, they do the first test for B,it's
negative and slightly later we find out the patient have A-flu...don't ask me why they don't do both tests at hte same time, don't know and this blonde
don't understand,I'm just the stupid one working among sick people..

yes I'm tired, look tired, even my aunt told me I look crap and asked when did you rest and slept properly??

With the population of the world and global travel being what they are, it’s only a matter of time before a nasty bug thins out the population again. It’s just the way of nature. Man has been able to outsmart Mother Nature for a while now, but she will have her say eventually. Antibiotics have certainly been a huge benefit to the last few generations.

If you think the 1918 flu was bad, you know what's worse?

Scientists excavated a the frozen body of an Inuit woman (preserved in the arctic permafrost) who died from the 1918 flu and took samples from her body.

They did this to ressurect this extinct virus in order to study it.

While I understand the need to study this thing...does anyone else have my misgivings about resurrecting an extinct virus that killed perhaps 80 million people in less than 18 months?

I think this disease should properly remain extinct.

Am I the only one who has a problem with this?

How about them bringing Ebola patients to a city the size of Atlanta. WTF! We all know it was to get a sample.

Do you think they can weaponize ebola?

Maybe use it as a WMD?
I don’t know if they can do it, but am certain that’s why it was brought here. Why else would they risk infecting a major metropolitan area.

I see a reason for it but I also have big reservation. Some things are best left alone!

Whenever I see them messing with an older virus, like the Spanish Flu, first thing I think, is weaponization.

Revolution kicking off? A little Spanish Flu, and a nice excuse for martial law and a lockdown.

And I'm not even that paranoid.
