Nice. I actually started prepping without my wife's buy in.

It wasn't until we had a water outage, and my rain barrel and water stores kicked in to save the day, that she really took to the idea.

Then, I made a "life prep" bag for her truck. Basically just stuff that the gals always seem to forget or need (3 in my household). Things like OTC meds, basic makeup, hairbands, feminine supplies, etc. Next time it was needed, told her to reach under the seat. She pulls out this little leopard print zipped up bag, and finds just what she needed.

She came around pretty quick to the idea that prepping doesn't just have to be for the end of the world, but can be just a good everyday idea. That's how I sold it, and still sell it to the family. After this, she even offered up good suggestions for their bag, and the other gals pitched in too with ideas.

After seeing my full blown GHB/BOB, they then wanted their own as well, or at least one to have other than mine, in the truck. (they do each have one though now, at home, in case we need to bug out).

to me a gun is just extra i would honestly rather use a bow i use a 70lb Jennings right now but i would not recommend anyone get a bow with that much its excessive a simple 20-30 will work fine just plan to have 30 plus arrows due to you will loose some over time i also have a older bear re-curb but after i bought a new string for it i put it up so that i will have it need be the real good thing to have ready as a kid is just a get out of dodge bag with enough stuff to keep you going for 72 hours then you have alot better chances of surviving.

Bows are nice, and quiet...but vs. a gun? Nope. Rate of fire, accuracy, etc. And on a far shot with a bow, the chances your target will still be there when the arrow gets there are a lot less!

Welcome to the forum TheResuer. I'm actually getting to that point where I'm not looked at like a teen so I know what you mean. If you have any questions feel free to ask

Hello,I'm 17 in the UK,No offence to the site owner but since this fourm looks a tad dead I thought I'd mention a facebook group I joined a whle back for uk preppers,it's called "Prepping and Survival UK" great group, coupple of teen preppers there too already.

I had a look at prepping and survival UK a while back it focused more on bushcraft and wilderness survival rather than prepping and survivalism. if you are looking for a big Brit forum tat is active try P2S or UKPreppers. Welcome BTW :)

To the OneHitWonder, you are off to a good start. Next time you go to the bath room, take a zip lock bag, roll some toilet paper up put in the bag, add a bic lighter u now have fire and but wipe all in one. ( you can also use newspaper). Repeat often.Try to find out if older prepper are clos to you, strong ,young ,preppers are an asset to the older prepper that just don't get around like a teen.
