The idiot awards showed how 2-faced hollywood is. Everyone (99%?) was all about #metoo and #timesup. Everyone claims how they didn't know about this, how they would have done something if they knew.

I have 1 name: Roman Polanski. For anyone too young to remember it, google his name and 'rape'.

He raped girls, children. He left the country to avoid persecution. And yet Hollywood has still been in love with him. They gave him the best director Oscar in 2003. They wanted Obama to pardon him so he could come back. There was no doubt what he did, they just didn't care. Meryl Streep gave him a standing ovation, and now she supports this?

And yet now suddenly Hollywood has seen the error of their ways? This story should be repeated with every article that covers their sudden awakening.

Trust not the scorpion wanting to ride your back across the river...

The entertainment industry in general does this, just looks the other way....

Look at Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. This dude adopted a 14yr old groupie so he could have sex with her, and it just gets a pass...hell, he was on a top TV show even.

Even moreso than Polanski, look at Woody Allen! The guy basically marries his adopted stepdaughter that he'd been at since she was underage.

Singer R. Kelly married fellow singer/actress Aaliyah when she was only 15.

Fez off That 70's show dated both Lindsay Lohan (17 at the time) and singer Mandy Moore (16 at the time).

Paul Walker (the guy who died, in the Fast and the Furious franchise), dated 16 yr olds almost exclusively.

Heck, even Elvis met his wife when she was just 14 and he dated her pretty much the whole time she was in high school.

Marilyn Monroe got married at 16 and called her first hubby "daddy" a lot.

The whole damn town is a cesspool of pedos. (and likely always has been).

Getting married at 14 was very very common, it wasn't until a certain Western Religion found it unacceptable, even marriages at age 16 was very common in the 19th century, my mom was married at 15 my dad was 19. If we start passing judgment today than we also need to pass judgment on our forefathers if not our own fathers. I except the fact that adulthood under legal definition begins at 18 but also keep in mind a 16 year old can be emancipated and marry at 16 so we need to be cautious of who we would call a pedophile ;)

Except that all of these were in the 20th or 21st century.

Then again, I'm the kind of guy who thinks anyone under 30 who gets married now is insane, and nearly guaranteed to divorce.

But, comparing your parents, they were only 4 years different... My examples, are typically a guy in his 30's dating someone in the teens.

Now, in my 40's, the wife and I have had fun with gals in their 20's, but never the teens (nor do I want to), so I get the attraction of youth...just not THAT young, lol.

OK, I'll grant that...but....

Just the whole underage thing...I mean, that's playing with fire. Nope, nope, nope.

Here is a kicker, Massachusetts under there traditional common law marriage still on the books are 12yrs old for girls and 14 for boys.

We still have a few States were a 14 years old can be emancipated and marry with half the states having no minimum age requirement as long as the parents and or a judge gives consent.

Would you clarify what you mean with this statement? It could go from something innocent to something else.

But this thread isn't about age of consent. I remember 'Little House on the Prairie', the girls got serious about relationships when about 13, and the parents (Charles & Carol) got serious at the same age. And many of these young marriages in real life were guided by the parents on both sides. Wiser minds oversaw all of it. And it was about marriage, long term relationships.

Rather, this thread is about Hollywood not 'dating' girls but flat out drugging and raping them. Abuse the girl/boy for the night or a few weeks then move on to the next victim.

Hollywood has always been about “do as I say not as I do” and like society as a whole I don’t hold em in high regard. We have an o’l saying here “the devil taking the high road again”

I put little value on anything Hollywood and don’t follow much on the ‘has beens that never were’ Hollywood taking the high road is laughable but so are politicians.

Yeah, it's pretty much exactly what you think it means. My wife and I love each other very much, and have been married for 14 years, come end of this month. But, she also likes women, so every once in a blue moon, a situation comes up where a gal joins us for a play date. :D I see nothing wrong with 3 consenting adults having a bit of fun. Granted, it's rare, but you know, we're all depraved and all, right? ;)

You are right.

Basically, while the opening post talks about Polanski, and that is a great case for how Hollywood turns a blind eye to it, my other examples are a mix of things that are typically frowned on. I'd put Woody Allen's actions as just as bad, if not WORSE than Polanski (because it was a child who should have been able to trust him), and yet he's still in Hollywood.

The whole Woody Allen thing is a complete failure of the state, if it was the average joe the state would have investigated under the assumption what was going on before they got together when she was 21 while she was under the care of Woody and Soon’s mother Mia? Never the less Hollywood embraced Woody and Soon-yi. I do think the Polanski thing is worse for one it’s a known fact the girl was 13 and two, most of Europe and Hollywood came to Polanski Defense even though Polanski drugged and raped a 13 year old. The whole situation is bigger than just Polanski simply because major powers have protected him from prosecution, no sir Allen is just a blip compared to Polanski.

I think we can both agree that the hypocrisy of Hollywood still entertaining Polanski just overshadows this whole nonsensical movement they are trying to portray during the Golden Globes. It's quite obvious the ONLY reason they are paying it any lip service is because it's more public now.

Meanwhile, the casting couches continue, the pedo orgies continue, and the threat of destroyed careers before they even start continues. No matter how many stars wore black.

Kudos to the gal that wore that stunning red number though....whew!

Funny thing...Oprah's speech.

Didn't she send PLENTY of young women right to Harvey Weinstein's door? Pretty sure she did. Now THAT is being a Hollywood hypocrite.

In 1975 I was 15 years old, sophomore in school and 3 of my female classmates married teachers that year. They are all still happily married.

If that happened today, they would be in jail.

It's only unacceptable if it's made public... the hollywood way! but for hollywood, news papers and tv reporters and tabloids to all act surprised even for the public to act shocked is a total scam that goes beyond being a hypocrite. All this shit does is diminish the victims of true sexual assaults, the public and the famous names made all about them setting aside the true victims!!!!
