As I have mentioned many times. OBAMA COMPLETELY RUINED HEALTHCARE.

In Tennessee, you can't get private insurance for a family. We have been through 3 companies in 2 years. Went from $800 to $2000 monthly premiums.

Basically, when you make a corporation and get insurance, you are very limited in available providers. My GP doesn't take our new insurance and I'm having trouble finding a new one that accepts our new provider. I don't use a GP, I have Specialists for the few ailments I have.

I need a followup because the fever keeps returning. When you are already pissy because you don't feel well , you don't need the hassle of finding a quality physician.

Uh hu. Yup. Everyone, please raise your hand if you disagree? Anyone? Oh, do I see something back there... ok, sure hi Brent... yup, can't miss you. Anyone else?

Anyone here see their $2500 per year health care savings? Buehler? Buehler?

Any Robin has already covered the "if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" lie.

So another question... what is the biggest minus with Obamacare? So many choice... just a few:
* Huge cost increases
* Massive paperwork
* Fewer medical provider choices
* lots of people cut to 30 hours/week to avoid 'full time' status
* more gov't overhead/costs ($1trillion+counting)
* lots of people lost their coverage

I suppose that would be a 'what has affected you directly the most' question.

Or yet another question, has a single person here benefitted in any way from Obamacare? Anyone? How?

To be fair here, Obama tried to get both parties together to make a good plan. The two sides hate each other so much that they couldn’t agree on much, leaving what was passed. The whole system sucks and there is too much money being made for any real improvements to happen. Sorry, the system is broken and corrupt, you can’t blame that on one man. With the continued division and literally hatred being perpetuated nothing will ever get done.

I went from $500 deductible to $3000 deductible on the company's policy when they first passed Obamacare. The insurance companies were proactively raising rates long before it even kicked in. The company started having to shop around every year for insurance to try to keep costs down, so we were changing policies annually. Then it got so expensive we decided to go with my wife's work insurance instead. My wife works for THE GOVERNMENT. Now we have the same insurance as Congress gets. Cadillac policy at Kia prices. Never have to get referrals, you can go to any specialist, they all take it, you can use it anywhere in the world. No wonder Congress won't fix Obamacare. They probably think everybody gets the same insurance they do.

well I am without heath care for a few years,,,the good I was checked out just before being kicked out and I am in good shape,,,,,,,,,,,the bottom line is as a lower income person you should not have to pay thru the nose for health care,,,I can't afford 8k a year for insurance
I’m with you 100%. The system is broken and needs to be fixed. This isn’t the time to play partisan politics, it’s the time to come together and make something happen. I haven’t heard any real constructive ideas from either party as of yet though.

I’m glad you have it covered at least. Now for the rest of America.....

No Brent I think your wrong. Everything you have said is incorrect. All the hatred started from the democrats. If it was not for republican resistance we would have a single payer healthcare plan. The ACA was to buy votes, as is everything else the democratic party is for. The democrats are against everything the republicans are for, even things which they are normaly for. The only things they are now for is open borders, illegal voting, healthcare fraud, elliminating due process and one is guilty untill proven innocent, protecting criminals from justice, denying medical services to U.S citizens and giving them to non citizens, selective use of all government agencies in favor of only democrats, ignoring the constitution, double standards, hypocracy. All to the extreme!

They need free market. Get government out of it. Make these companies compete to get our business and I guarantee prices will lower.

All of the doctor's that perform elective surgeries have to compete and priced fall.
For example n Lasik eye surgery used to be unaffordable, now it's as low as $250 per eye. These doctors are competing for the business

Brent the problem is not Politicians,,,,the providers are the problem they know we need healthcare and are price gouging

Rellgar, the Republicans had plenty of chances to fix it and didn't. Their steady drumbeat of "Repeal Obamacare" suddenly died when they took over Congress.

There are plenty of things - very simple things we could do to improve the health care laws.

For starters, why is that individuals can't write off health insurance on their taxes but companies can?
Why do they make it so difficult to get and use health savings accounts? I have one and I wasn't even able to get a deduction on my taxes last year because I took the standard deduction. It shouldn't have to be lumped in with itemized deductions. And why the puny contribution limits? Why all the restrictions on who can get one? It should be open to every single citizen!
Why can't people shop across state lines for health insurance?

Funny, I hear far left democrats say the same thing about all republicans..... all I know for sure is with both sides hating so much all it does is ensure things stay messed up and in a stalemate.

As I said before, greed is the cause of most of this. When so many are making so much no one wants it to change.

I read about a program in Mexico that the govt paid for doctors student loans if they worked in a low end clinic for a prescribed amount of time. The doctors loved it as they got their loans paid. The people loved it as they got to see a doctor for a small copay. Programs like this won’t fix all our problems, but it would be a good start.

Do you pay your health insurance premiums entirely on your own?
If so, you can claim them as a deduction. If not, you can’t.
