Here are some interesting pictures and ideas for smokers that I stumbled upon while searching the good ol' web. Any suggestions about the best setup to use?

I've got plans to build a walk-in smoker. I hope to start on it this Fall. Right now I use a stainless steel Smoke Shack smoker, for both hot and cold smoking.
Hunny bought a little building that we stripped the electrical conduant on the inside to use as walk n smoker. . . that has been a few years ago. Not even sure what it was used for originally but it was down at the salvage yard and a good price. About 7ft x 3 1/2 ft. Maybe one day when he retires again :). Fall is coming and it sure would be nice to cold smoke a few hams and do some smoked sausages to hang up.

Hunny would kill me if I hung fish on the inside of the chimney. . but that would be a hoot :p!! Maybe it could get him to move a little quicker on getting the walk in smoker done faster. . . hmm getting the wheels turnin now.

I'd like to smoke catfish but can't roll papers for squat!!!

KIDDING!

Looooooooooong ago a friends uncle smoked channel catfish we
caught and they were great.
Channel catfish aren't much for scavenging like the common brown
and yellow bullhead.
Channel catfish hit lures and fight like heck.

Can't tell a lot of difference between expensive smoked salmon and '
smoked catfish.

Bite your tongue boy. You're comparing a low life catfish to a salmon!?!. Wow. That's blasphemy!
Seriously, I like catfish too. But haven't tried smoking any yet. If I can get away from working for a day or two I'll go out and catch some.

Wild salmon are in short supply where I live in Ohio.

That is catching them.

Wild caught can be found in better grocery stores.

At least they say it's wild caught.

"Wow. That's blasphemy!"

Come to think about it that IS blasphemy.

I feel awful.:(

Someone recommend some good brands of electric smokers.

I'm thinking hard on buying one.

Or a new rifle?????????????

Decisions can be tough.

So many toys; so little money.:(:(:( sigh..............

Retired = broke. I might have to get a part time job.

O.M.G. did I really say that? Horrors.

Ok, you need to buy both. That's just silly talk about having to buy only one. You deserve a good smoker and a new rifle. You should get a new pistol too while your at it.
I've got a Cook Shack stainless steel smoker with a Smoke Daddy smoke generator for cold smoking. It makes a good combination to be able to cold smoke cheese, etc.

You are now my b.b.f. (best friend forever)!

I DO love the way you think. :>)
Thanks for the recommendations too!:D

I have a .58 cal Zouave rifle coming.

It's a copy of the Zouave rifle made during the Civil War.

Should bang, flop, a whitetail.:)

I think we should form a support group for preppers here who are faced with trying to decide what to buy. Like in your case for example, you were struggling with what to buy; a smoker or a rifle. The simple answer was to get both. That relieves a lot of stress.
It's just trading useless paper notes for more tangible and useful things.

Good idea.

The way the world is shaping up we need all the survivalists and peppers
we can get.

Just sayin'.
