this is what was said between another person and me..

(other person) Cucumbers are the second worst food in the world. Also the first if you pickle them.

(me) how are they the worst when pickled into bread n butter pickles??

(other person) Because, clearly, pickles are the most vile thing on earth. Well, Hillary I guess has surpassed them.

When I travel somewhere that English is not the primary language, the first thing I commit to memory is the phrase "no pickles". I cut up and joke and exaggerate for effect, but that is a 100% true thing.

In a lot of places in Europe, they put a fried egg on top of everything. I have no idea why.
I ordered a burger in Holland once, and it had a fried egg on top even. Go figure.

Are we talking about Cucumbers, Zuccini or Courgettes ?

Parts of the UK you would get your head kicked in if you did NOT put a fried egg on top.. I visited a """ Traditional English"""" pub once in Kansas, it offered a FULL ENGLISH breakfast, I nearly shot the waiter when he served my full English, ONE Sausage ONE sausage to a BRIT !!! thats the same as giving us the middle fingered salute, Crispy Canadian bacon NOT real bacon rashers 4mm thick, NO FRIED BREAD ( he should have been shot for that alone), Not many baked beans, not much fried tomatoes and NO BLACK PUDDING. we have invaded countries for less. After John had pried my teeth from the managers throat and made me s half decent cup of tea !!!... The manager comes meekly over to our table and says
" Sir you are clearly a Lim.... erm Englishman and I apologise if we did not get your meal the way you expected but may I ask you a question?"

Sure I replied How may I help you? says I

" Sir" says the manager " What is black pudding? "

Knew I should have shot him, WHATS black Pudding !!!!!! should have expected that from a country that puts cheese into aerosols.

Most places that carry black pudding here is made with beef not pork, I love black pudding (pork) and haven't had it in years though never had it made with beef... it doesn't even sound right to me? My German Grandfather use to make the pudding from pork all the time, he use to fry in a 18" skillet (sometimes cooked on a large iron plate over a fire) with sausage links, potato's, onions, mushrooms, fried eggs and fried bread... I can smell it right now :(

When I think of black pudding, snack pack comes to mind..... Sorry chaps. Seriously, I know what the stuff is but have yet to try it. Another note, seriously, snack pack chocolate pudding is pretty good stuff. :)

this black pudding seems to be kinda universal among those that use the whole animal, slight variations, but nourishing and good.

my grandma used to serve it with lingonberry jam and white sauce.
