Full-proof plan.

Step 1. Make the 15 min test allowable and widely available.
2. Test anyone trying to LEAVE countries where it is widespread. (testing after departure is just useless)
3. Only after result is negative, do they leave an isolated area of the terminal, and board the plane, boat, etc.
4. Anyone trying to leave the country illegally, is shot on sight.
This confines the virus to just those places where it is already an epidemic.
5. Test anyone in afflicted areas showing ANY of the symptoms. Quarantine any positives.
6. Treat all afflicted, following all safety protocols.
Ebola eradicated...the end.

Think they have the balls to do this? No, of course not, which is why we'll still have cases pop up months from now.

so,came home after a days work, opened the tv...we have our first ebola suspect now...the worst part is that the piss-ant has been roaming among the public for 20 days..now that person has all the symptoms and that person did come from west-Africa where they have that disease..no screening..no nothing at the airport...

Just be thankful it takes close contact to spread.
Still, the measures I mentioned would have stopped him before he got on the plane.

ever so thankful..what worries me is the fact that this man has been here fo 20 days and living his daily life as always...God knows how many contacts he's had..

While I'm tired of hearing about people whining because they have to be quarantined, I am kind of with those that test NEGATIVE for the virus, still being treated that way.

In my mind, you should be quarantined for the 21 days, OR until you've tested negative twice for the virus on two different days. EITHER case should give you the all clear. Keeping someone quarantined who has repeatedly tested negative is just ridiculous.

I think i just saw on tv that Thomas Duncan's family is settling with the hospital over the fact that they sent him home with a 103 degree temperature.... Im kinda disappointed that a guy can break the law and lie in order to leave a hot zone for ebola, come to the USA, infect 2 nurses putting their lives in danger, and then sue the hospital for Duncan's own failure of falsely answering on his first arrival that he had not been to west africa ....

that's BS!!!! that Duncan should be sent back on the first plane...

sry,my mistake, but that type of lawsuit shouldn't happen...if you lie about things that matter you better face the consequenses also, definately his family knew where he came from, not the hospital..if they haven't hired a pshycic to read patients minds, which I doubt

Maybe the hospital should sue his estate for the millions of dollars he cost them (not that they have a snowball's chance in hell of collecting, LOL), not to mention the pain and suffering of the two nurses he infected.

the thing of it.is Duncan knew he had it well before he went to the airport.and his family found out he had it when he got home..and that they could be infected..now im wondering.can attempted murder charges be filed against him and/or any family members? seeing how ebola has a high mortality rate...

I heard part of a report on the radio last night while driving home from work that something like 500 people are being "moitored" for synptoms . I don't see a conspiracy or facts being hidden here it may just show that the CDC is getting it and doing something right . I would say the ones being monitored would be anyone that had contact with any of the past known infected .

picked up this from a news site;1000 more dead since wednesday...and it was supposed to be contained at least in some way..

that's what worries me...have other things also that worries, this is one of them...

don't know what the heck it is but have a feeling that something is about to happen, what worries me more is that my brother, who usually don't worry at all, seems to be worried about world affairs

now thats something to think about, when it comes to your brother...and when obama came along.and started saying one thing..and then doing something else. plus all the other countries..a person has to wonder and worry

Jim,it was so easy before,oh darn..the good old days :)
