not heard of any cases down this way, probably confined to our lovely multi cultural cities.
I've been saying for years, post collapse more people will die of disease in the UK than will be killed by violence(unless you live in those same cities that is).

:( here in the US we have roughly 14,000 a year of reported cases and that's with the abundance of resources today, I can only imagine 60 days into a post-shtf.

No my dear and much respected friend, recent evidence shows that Dysentery can and does crop up within 10 days especially the further south you get. and that is WITH Emergency Federal and out of state aid arriving. often when the media reports on disasters I try to monitor for reports of early outbreaks of transmittable diseases . In places like Hiati etc it only takes a couple of days, in large cities in warmer areas it can also happen within days. Soon as you lose power and running water the clock is running.

Not ony do you need good hygiene protocols, but also a means to provide your family with clean water as most of these diseases initially start with dirty water. Almost as important is a basic knowledge of barrier nursing and treating water borne diseases. I've had a copy of this stuck on my fridge since offspring was a baby.

We don't drink fizzy pop, unless it's with something alcoholic.;) and I never gave offspring fizzy drinks when he was a child so we don't have a taste for it. I like the simplicity of the recipe and everyone has the ingredients in their cupboard.
But then my nephews will only drink Coke and Irn-bru(bleugghhhh) so if it gets fluids into them.....

My wife agrees with you but admits in here 40 years as a paed nurse she has often resorted to flat coke to get the salts / electrolytes etc back up in children on her ward.
