Paracetamol is better known as acetaminophen in the US, brand name Tylenol. Nobody I know takes Tylenol anymore. No doctors I know recommend Tylenol any more.

Actually they still tell people on some heart medications/blood thinners to take Tylenol but do it sparingly.

Stories have been circulating online suggesting it's dangerous to take ibuprofen if you have coronavirus. Alongside genuine medical advice, false messages have been spreading, distorting the facts.

Both paracetamol and ibuprofen can bring a temperature down and help with flu-like symptoms.

But ibuprofen and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are not suitable for everyone and can cause side-effects - especially for people with asthma, heart and circulatory problems.

The NHS website previously recommended both paracetamol and ibuprofen, but has since changed its advice to say that while "there is currently no strong evidence that ibuprofen can make coronavirus (Covid-19) worse... until we have more information, take paracetamol to treat the symptoms of coronavirus, unless your doctor has told you paracetamol is not suitable for you."

The NHS also says that people who are already taking ibuprofen on the advice of a doctor, should not stop taking it without checking first.

Although we don't yet know whether ibuprofen has a particular effect on the severity or length of illnesses caused by coronavirus - either in healthy people or those with underlying conditions - Dr Charlotte Warren-Gash, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, says, especially for vulnerable patients, "it seems sensible to stick to paracetamol as first choice".

I am allergic to NSAIDs except Tylenol and refuse to take it. It will give you liver failure fast.

I would rather take opiods than Tylenol. Opiods can be taken properly. It's not like Reefer Madness.

If you can't take ibuprofen, then you can't take any aspirin based products, Advil, aspirin, etc. All are in the same family. I'm allergic.
It depends. If it's all NSAIDs that have the effect then this would be true. But I have a brother that's allergic to ibuprofen but takes Naproxen (aleve).

Aleve is very dangerous too. Hell, most meds are worse than the problems.
Tell me that when I feel like I'm dying from a migraine or cramps. I swear no medication side effect is as bad as those things. I am aware of the dangers of the drugs though. I can't take ibuprofen anymore because it messes with my stomach and I have to be very careful with Aleve.
I did hear the correlation between ibuprofen and negative side effects of COVID-19, though I also read that there is no strong evidence to support it.

While we are discussing meds, I from suffer cramps every day, so does anybody have a suggestion?
This works for me.

Everybody go outside and look for a silver willow tree. Get 8 - 10 little fresh branches, chop them up and boil in about a quart of water 5 minutes. Let it cool and place in the fridge. Take a shot glass or two daily, this is natures pain killer, the pharmaceuticals have copied the chemical composition for decades and call it ASPIRIN....
The leaves, new branches and the bark can be used to make your own pain killer, no side effects AND no blood thinning...Gary
PS: get some magnesium for your leg cramps...
