cause not going to be out and about in daylight. soft armor, NVD goggles, and day glo paint on the sights make all the difference. cut the barrel to 7", to keep regular .22lr ammo subsonic, Install a telescoping stock, so that you can conceal the package under a jacket, on a sling under your arm.

There will be M4's and 223 ammo to pick up later (from the dead). So maybe cache the .22 conversion unit for it, and a suppressor-kit. IF, and it's a BIG "if", you make it to the one year point, 90-99% of the population will be dead, making it much safer for you to go scrounge what you need. Then the AP, range and power of the AR might matter, cause you'll probably need to be out in daylight at least some of the time.

it needs to be concealable. and a lot more stable/accurate in rapidfire than any pistol. Get a spare barrel for the Papoose, it's $80, Dont install it until shtf, and save the $200 fed fee, for it. ditto the telescoping buttstock and the silencer. The 7" barrel keeps regular .22lr ammo subsonic and then any ammo you barter for or find will not have sonic crack thru the silencer. A lot of autoloaders will not function with the more lightly loaded subsonic ammo. it's also harder to find and more expensive, in most cases. With 6" of silencer, it can still be concealed under a jacket, on a sling under your arm. When somebody's shooting at you, do you REALLY believe you can pull head shots with a pistol? :) In the dusk or dawn, do you really believe that you can reliably take game with just one shot, no scope? Or what about at night, using the dayglo paint on iron sights, and NVD goggles?

Ok, though you can get non NFA butt stocks for the pistols as an fyi or easily make your own.

part of opsec is not attracting attention and putting in for a tax stamp is a major attention getter, attracting the very worst people that you could have aware of your interests/intentions. Until you thread that tube/endplug, it's just a piece of tubing with a hunk of metal welded into one end. . Until you compress the screen wire into the "donut" shape baffle, it's just screenwire. Just to be safe, don't have either one where it can be related to you, tho. Until you install that short barrel or the retractable stock onto the frame, neither one of them means anything, but it's still a bad idea to have either one of them under your name or in your possession. The project can all be finish/assembled in an hour. It's not like it makes noise to test it and zero it, either. :)

You don't need a tax stamp, there are legal stocks that is non NFA components as I alluded to in my above post.

the silencer is the main thing and you most assuredly better have a tax stamp for that.

that is not what I posted about originally. One swallow does not a summer make. the package is what's important, not just a part of it. Without the silencer, and the short barrel, there'd be no point in the Marlin over a 1022
