due to my profession, have to deal with this crap, wether I know that the patient has it or not, constantly alert, constantly worrying do we have equipment or not enough.
'cause of this they have already amped up security at the hospitals as this crap effect those pesky druggies too, more difficult for them to get shit..

I really didn’t want to retire this soon, was thinking three more years yet. But I’m not alone in this event changing most people’s plans. At least I have a roof over my head, plenty to eat, room to garden and even some toilet paper! Always remember what you do have in life and be greatful.

I came into this world with nothing and after decades of striving I will probably leave with nothing.

Overall things are good on our end. My wife's clinic is just doing telemedicine now for the most part, which is good. We have pleanty of the essentials. Not to sound crass, I know there are lots of good folks hurting right now, but selfishly I'm good with the new order. In normal times I travel for work a lot... a lot! With C19, I haven't had to board a plane or leave the house for weeks. It sounds awful, but this is like a vacation from my usual grind...

I think you are asking a very short-sighted question, when with a slight, tiny word change, it'll be a very significant question. Let me rephrase:

"How is your life going to change AFTER CoVid19 runs its course?

Think Great Depression and how you (today) would do in it.

Overall life is good here. Of course our social interaction has changed but we continue to pay our bills, eat good food regularly, work hard here at home, and worship quietly being ever thankful for all those blessings. We are even more blessed that at this point (although inconvenienced) only one of our 5 kids or 7 grandkids have become sick with this virus.

I (we) have decided to move my retirement date from 06/01 to 08/01. Hopefully things will be getting back to normal by then.

The main factor for the delay is all about insurance. While I have Medicare, wifey does not. She is on my medical so we will have to arrange some other insurance. But, the biggest is not Medical. We both had plans to have some final dental work completed and eyes checked (new glasses) while we have Dental and Vision insurance. Now the Dentist and Eye doctors are only seeing real emergencies and not regular visits so hoping to push the retirement to when those providers are back to normal.

Will also change my 401K to drop a bunch of those extra 2 months into retirement. So it is not all bad. Just my coworkers will have to put up with me for a couple additional months. (But that is their problem not mine. :p)

I don't know if I had it or not, but if I did my life was totally changed when I was sick. But now things are getting close being like life before the pandemic. So how do I answer? Now? Then? Average of the two?

Now.

I was very ill for over 2 weeks and thought I may have caught it too, (had all of the symptoms). Just got back to normal now. It was terrible when ill and not able to do anything and even going to the doctors was a nightmare then. I hope I don't have to go near the place in the middle of this shit storm. Now I am quite enjoying it. The only thing i miss is visiting museums and other cultural activities. Still plenty of work to do around the house.

Everyone here is still working on the job or from home, except for my daughter in law, who was working at a grocery deli. She quit to take care of her son and the other children.

We were already prepared. We all cashed in short term investments and took out excess cash.

This is giving us all the time to expand garden and chicken coops. Also time and a necessity to expand our home schooling functions.

The only real change in our lives is my work place shut down....no one knows when it will start up again. Otherwise, I’ve been busy doing house maintenance and fighting the torrential downpours for the last week in ‘sunny’ Kalifornia.

Other than I'm working the overnight shift and I really don't know what my shift is for the week until the morning of life is basically the same. Boss sch me Mon and Wed this week which means I went in Mon night, but knew if I went back on Wed, I wouldn't have enough to keep busy, so I waited and going tonight. If Fri wasn't Good Fri I would have gone in then. I hope she gives me another side project. Last time I was there it took less than half my shift to do what I could work on. Then 3 hrs to rearrange/clean everything she wanted. Fortunately the area across me got a truck in so spent my last hour helping them.

Oh, one little extra consequence...

Because we are both staying home more, not eating out, going to movies, buying a bunch of stuff, etc. we are way under budget on expenditures. I don't even have to try to watch the budget. I used to cringe when I saw the grocery bill, wondering "Should I have bought that? It's really expensive."

Now it's like "eh?"

My daughter's wedding plans had to be put on hold indefinitely.

I am sure she is disappointed. My 17 year old granddaughter will still graduate but without a prom, senior trip or graduation ceremony the way it is looking. She is terribly disappointed but alive and healthy which is what is important.
