President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has apologised to Italy for a lack of solidarity over the Chinese coronavirus outbreak, as anger towards the political bloc grows.

The lack of aid from the EU during the coronavirus crisis has led to even more animosity from Italians, with residents filming themselves burning EU flags on social media and uttering the phrase, “we save ourselves”.

Italy starts to look ahead to 'phase two' as COVID-19 death toll slows
Following several days of encouraging data, Health Minister Roberto Speranza outlined a series of measures, including more testing and a beefed up local health system, intended to allow a gradual easing until a vaccine might be developed.

“There are difficult months ahead. Our task is to create the conditions to live with the virus,” at least until a vaccine is developed, he told the daily La Repubblica newspaper.

It is heartening to see the number of deaths decreasing but I’m afraid this will be long road before people can get out and start to work and interact again. Not just for Italy but the world overall. I don’t know how long hungry people will be civil or how long the economies of countries can hold together but I’m seeing stresses allready and it could be months yet. Keep prepping....

China forces Italy to buy same coronavirus supplies it had donated to Beijing a few weeks ago

China's efforts to rebrand itself as a global leader focused on humanitarian relief amid the coronavirus outbreak has hit a major snag and perhaps revealed Beijing's true intentions behind their public relations blitz.

After telling the world that it would donate masks, face guards and testing equipment to Italy, China quietly backtracked and sold the Mediterranean country desperately-needed medical equipment, according to a report.

What's worse is that the personal protective equipment (PPE) China forced Italy to buy was actually the same PPE Italy donated to China before coronavirus rushed its own shores and killed nearly 16,000 people.

Europe could fall, Italy warns as divided EU seeks coronavirus rescue deal
BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union faces an existential threat if it cannot come together to combat the coronavirus crisis, Italy said on Thursday as the divided bloc sought to salvage talks on a rescue package to aid battered economies.

Sixteen hours of talks between EU finance ministers on a half-a-trillion-euro package collapsed on Wednesday. They were due to resume at 1500 GMT on Thursday to push for a deal to help governments, companies and individuals through a deep recession the pandemic is expected to cause in Europe this year.

“It’s a big challenge to the existence of Europe,” Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte told the BBC. “If Europe fails to come up with a monetary and financial policy adequate for the biggest challenge since World War Two, not only Italians but European citizens will be deeply disappointed,” he said.

I just don't know what the EU's problem is, I mean, with all of that great new "diversity" they couldn't wait to bring in, and have been flooding the countries with for years. Things should be better than ever for them.
