Why not use the filter itself placed in a new mask cover?
Too logical and too easy for those at large to come up with such an idea. GP
If the straps are adjustable, you can still use them after they lose elasticity. My N95 dual filter respirator's straps have lost all elasticity, but I can still use it by cinching down tight. It makes it more difficult to remove, but it still works fine. I only use that one in the garden when I'm spreading diatomaceous earth, and it stays outside in the carport which is probably why the straps lost elasticity

okay,my country got a shippment of face masks ordered from China, in all documents what was sent was superb quality and so on...when recieved and tested ; sub-standard,not suitable for hospital use,not all is lost,they can be used in home care and nursing homes by the staff...

British authorities have complained of the same issue with testing kits they had ordered, with Public Health England’s Professor John Newton stating that millions of ordered test kits were “not good enough to be worth rolling out in very large scale”.

on the other hand, just got news from my friend at the er ward I work at ( when this quarantine is over ), no P2's os 3's for the staff,there isn't any and one box was labeled "to patients only"...I don't know should I cry,scream or laugh...
Can you make your own masks, out of those shop towels? I posted about them and you can get the info on how to make them. There equivalent to N95 masks.
I think this is a bad idea. They should have continued the Helsinki road blocks longer. I expect infections to increase at a faster rate again elsewhere now.
I read that the only reason they stopped the emergency measures is because the government didn't have the legal authority to enforce the law. They said the emergency powers law isn't justified in this situation. That is very odd because not much have changed since they introduced that law 2 weeks ago. Secondly, if they can't use that law then how do they have the power to force restaurants and bars to stay closed? Wasn't that was under the same law?
Deaths are low because they aren't doing an autopsy on all deaths or testing for coronavirus on the dead. I imaging there is a lot of underreporting from the care homes too.
A lot of that going on here too.
New York was not reporting COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes, but now they are, as of a couple of days ago. That shot their death rate way up. They now have more reported deaths per day than Italy or Spain.
I took the N95 scarf, cut it into 9 pieces and sewed new masks with it jontte. Warm with fleece, black for the night ops, wind proof for winter and re-usable.....Haha, Gary

My personal feeling is they now realise they massively over reacted and now see the death rate is (dare I say it) similar to regular flu. Most likely it is highly contagious and extremely unpleasant and kills off a load of already sick people. Again this is hard to verify because we have no idea how many have died or how many would have died if there was no social distancing.
The "dictator" Victor Orban has started, the first nation in the world...to get 18,000 volunteers of all ages, addresses, job types and health situations; to go to the local hospitals, fill out a long form of specific personal info, give blood, urine and saliva samples, get the tests done and get all the info to a central ministry to find out what has happened to the CoVid 19 virus, has it mutated, how has it affected the different people in various places in Hungary...---NOT BAD FOR A DICTATOR; WHAT DO YOU THINK???? Actually we do know, its not hard to verify. Look at the 50% increase in all deaths worldwide, so far this year. The flu isn't even close to the covid19 mortality rate.
According to the CDC, an average of 36,000 people die per year of the flu in the United States.
An average of 99 deaths per day of the flu
In April, 37,521 people in the US died of COVID-19.

The global population is 7.8 billion.
The reported number of COVID-19 cases is 3.5 million.
Let's say that the actual COVID-19 rate is 100 times the reported rate. That would put the number of infections globally at 350 million.
That puts us at 0.4% of the world population that has been infected.
They are predicting that around 60% of the world's population will get COVID-19 within then next year.
