WTF is wrong with this idiots? Excuse me....COVIDiots.

I am astounded at the number of people that are still putting politics over everything else.

was just thinking the same thing. It has actually gotten worse! By far. They see it as a way to keep the President from being re-elected. As if this virus wasn’t bad enough, we’ve got Dems making up shit and denying any responsibility at all.

I'll do my best here, if / when this is over, I will take a brake from work, will not piss in this direction..
luckily most of my co-workers understand how deep this crap is and we all support each other as much as possible, have at least one surgical mask in my pocket all the time and I take this thing quite seriously.

where ever you are, what ever you do ; stay as safe as possible.

Really disheartened that management is saying for anyone in a hospital to not wear a mask. Sorry, I’d wear it anyways and the hell with their stupidity. I know you have a job to do and commend you for it. Just take care of yourself and do what you know is wise.

Up to 80,000 Ukrainians trying to get back home, too many have gotten in and were positive. Now they are closing the borders to their own citizens...The polish were stuck in traffic jams up to 37 km long. The truckers were living in their trucks without any food or water. Others who made it over the border, left their water, fruit, veggies and even cigarettes back on the highway for those behind them to live with!!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE IN CULTURAL ETHICS!! GP

So much for the European union solidarity.

In the United States, the spiritual home of prepping, the movement often exhibits a millenarian tendency, with adherents building secret concrete bunkers in the wilderness stocked with powdered milk and AK-47s with the aim of riding out everything from nuclear war to zombie attacks.
Millenarianism (also millenarism), from Latin mīllēnārius "containing a thousand", is the belief by a religious, social, or political group or movement in a coming fundamental transformation of society, after which "all things will be changed"

I think anyone with half a brain is a Millenarian right now.

well, I just go this day by day, trying to avoid others as I have been in contact with patients with this crap.

this isolation is for all thse covidiots that thought; hey lets go to our summer cottage...

so,the test came in as NEGATIVE,so just dodged that bullet, boy I'm glad,

sofar about 1400 cases,17 dead and they are finally starting to understand those magic words "war time triage".
must admit, this was something they didn't teach us at the paramedic school..

Please tell me if any of this is wrong.

I think it was the Rush Limbaugh show, today he said that Sweden basically is doing a 'do nothing' job for CV. No lock-in, no closing businesses, no 'rescue' packages. Basically they came out & said "if you're old or vulnerable, then shield yourself accordingly; but it's about personal accountability." Is this true?

On the one hand, I love the idea of each person taking care of themselves. But for those who don't, or those who get unlucky, I would expect the hospitals to get overrun. But just let it run its course, and plenty of people of people are going to die. But the idea being that a guaranteed destruction of their economy is not more valuable than 2-3% of the people dying. You can't expect under 0.2% deaths, so it's just a tradeoff of how many lives for how much of the economy.

Where is the right balance? On the one hand is South Korea where they were very serious about saving lives and sacrificing the economy (with a compliant populace). On the other side is where Italy/Spain have been (until recently, but that may be too late).

Let me put a $/live exchange. Let's say we can save 2 million lives in the USA. And let's say the 'cost' is in the $2-5 trillion (and maybe $10-20T?), but use $4trillion as a number. That $4T / 2million is a $2 million per life saves. Wow. I'm not sure that's a wise tradeoff. Mine may be one of the lost, but this can destroy our economy for decades. Is my basic math wrong? Your thoughts?
