How does water storage fit into your plans? I know that for long term, a well, spring, river or some kind of natural (not municipal water sources) water source is required is required. But what if your your source is not within your house? I am designing a small house now with a basement (top of the basement will be below the 4' frost line) and am thinking about putting a 15,000 gallon cistern in the basement. Preliminary number crunching says its cheaper doing this than with underground storage tanks - also much easier to maintain. What are your thoughts?
