China Has Withheld Samples of a Dangerous Flu Virus

For over a year, the Chinese government has withheld lab samples of a rapidly evolving influenza virus from the United States — specimens needed to develop vaccines and treatments, according to federal health officials.

Despite persistent requests from government officials and research institutions, China has not provided samples of the dangerous virus, a type of bird flu called H7N9. In the past, such exchanges have been mostly routine under rules established by the World Health Organization.

Simple. ban entry to anyone coming from China or from a recent visit to China, from entering the USA (or any USA territory) until they have undergone a complete medical work up. Want to bet China sends those samples ASAP.

If a virus developed in china that later turned into a pandemic all the while china withheld samples before the pandemic in violation of the WHO agreement in which china is a signatory. China will have to answer the world as to why it withheld samples over a political dispute. But in the end nothing will come out of it given the UN and the WHO have no teeth especially against a permanent member.

In my book withholding samples that could have potentially saved thousands if not millions is equivalent of germ warfare, under the US Military doctrine any state that deliberately attacks the US with chemical/germ is the same as a nuclear strike and would be retaliated as such.

I could see the Chinese giving this flu to someone and putting them on an international flight. By the time we figured it out, and got the samples from China, made the vaccine in mass quantities.. it would already be too late.

Problem is we allowed China to manufacture for US companies just for China to steal the design and manufacture themselves, not only do these US companies put up with it the US does nothing, even when China constantly has it’s cyber espionage unit gain access to our Military weaponry design and then use that information for the purpose to challenge the US in the future, so why the hell do we even have diplomatic ties? The US Military, US State Department and the US Government already deems China a Military threat. It’s bullshit we even talk to them prxxks!

Because their crap is cheap. Which keeps inflation artificially suppressed. Which keeps interest rates low. Which makes it possible to run in the red all the time.

Despite Trump's tariffs, our country is their biggest customer. Can't they see that if we go down the tubes...they screw themselves?

I'd like to think that people are, fundementally, the same everywhere.

Does anyone believe that China actually wants a worldwide pandemic that would kill uncounted millions of people?

The older I get, the more I lose faith in humanity.
