I'm interested in learning and developing more skills to enhance my prepping. However, there are so many different classes and courses out there that I'd like to narrow down which ones would be most relevant.

Like most of us, I don't have an unlimited supply of money or time to put into several different courses. I figured I could get some great feedback on this forum from those who have already participated in some of the courses available here in Ohio. As with most things, I'm sure some classes are better than others. At most I could probably invest the time and money into two or three courses.

Maybe one that's medically related, one that's tactical, and one that's outdoor survival related. I hear more and more that S.E.R.E. (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) training would be a good option. However, I'm interested in what other people's feedback might be on this.

To survive we need food, water and good health, and to protect those attributes. So learn to
1 Grow your own food, not necessarily ALL of it but the more the better, even growing food in a back yard is a step in the right direction
2 Learn how to find, filter, treat and store water
3 Learn about healthcare, Para Medicine and Dentistry, built up a comprehensive medical kit / tools
4 Learn self defence, situational awareness, risk assessment and how to shoot, do basic self defence and how to use a knife
5 DIY skills, not only can you maintain and keep your home in good order and more secure, but you can save money too
6 Learn to ride a bike, drive a car, ride a horse, sail a boat, cox a cabing cruiser, fly a microlight, drive / use a back hoe
7 Learn how to use radio equipment
Develop skills that will be needed after TSHTF like Sewing, Smithing, Leathercraft, Mechanics, Animal husbandy, Fish Keeping, Forestry etc

NOTE THIS IMPORTANT POINT. Tactical skills and training, and Bush craft and Wilderness survival, its good for you to be skilled and self reliant, being fit enough to carry a pack for miles, to be able live rough in the woods in bad weather, catch and kill a critter, sleep up a tree away from the bigger critters.....................................................BUT.................................. Can your Wife / GF / Mum/ Gran/ Kids / Paw / Granpaw etc and for how long?
