I don't think armour is really a consideration in the UK countryside, would just get in the way of doing other things.
solitude and isolation are better protectors where I am.

I was just talking to my #1 son about body armor and eh weight factor of Level 4 armor. Anybody got any suggestions / recommendations rifle caliber body armor? Too many rifle caliber "HAND GUNS" on the market now. As I understand it, level 3A or even 3 will not stop a 5.56 "Pistol" round.

UP,that's were you need to combine soft and hard protection,what they usually issue to us in trainings,guys complain the
weight,aprox 36 lbs and there is still missing some shoulder pads and a small hard plate for the groin area.
what I have for me is soft body armor with a breast plate and a plate carrier with soft + hard plates.

it would be very hard for me to trust my life with home made ballistics.
