if you have a connection to another prepper that's great.
about first-aid,well that's something of a must do thing, it simply is a life saver, check the thread of first-aid, about gardening, well if you walk around in your neck of woods and see some gardens, knock on their door and ask about them, local people know what to grow and you will propably get some great tips about it

That's true. The other pepper used to be a nurse. But I'd like a class better. I'll find one:) determined I am.

great :) I came into contact with first-aid through my work,it's mandatory for us, and my ex introduced me to gardening...shooting came into picture when I did my service

Ditto. I just got started down this road, too. Any recommendation on which ones to stock up on first?

i havent looked into them well enough to recommend any,,yet...plus do you or a family member have any medical history to think about? soe act as a pain relievers.some are good treating ulcers digestive tract infections. so on so on..so if you have any idea to you need/might need in the way of herbs.i'll see what i can find out

as my growing season is terribly close to an end..once again and winter is coming I've been trying to get some books or a book about medicinal plants here in Finland, seems I have to go downton to a large bookstore..something I wasn't gonna do until my vacation is over..

TR,

Head to the Medicine forum, I placed a few herbal medicine pdf's in there. If you need more for reference, give me a shout. I think I have about 20 more references.

Regards

Does anyone think that carpentry would be a good skill to learn? Gun smithing is on my to do list.

Carpentry will ALWAYS be a needed scale, gun smithing and black smithing will also be needed, in a post-shtf black smithing will be in higher demand then gun smithing and perhaps even carpentry, the world is flooded with scaled carpenters and far more gun smiths then black smith, black smith is a dying art, hard to find and always in demand. If I was young and had only one profession to pick, it would black smithing 2nd gun smithing 3rd carpentry, carpentry being the least expensive trade to get in to

three trades which need badly young people...ok it's not always so nice, but when you do something with your hands and see the finnished product, it feels so good

if I would live rural I would have a forge...blacksmithing was fun to do when in school..and I would get me a shoemakers set..all the handtools of that trade..

I also live in an apartment. I am definitely glad this forum exists. There has been some very good posts especially from Maverick. I learned a lot and not just about him.

Getting together basic disaster pack sinse I'm in blizzard country now, so the basic essentials. Upgrading my bob with effective And useful tools to help me where ever. Got together with my local gun enthusiasts and have begun the steps to make myself a great shot. How's everyone?
