If metal ammo cans dry up and you really want one, why not substitute a metal tool box of the same (or similar) dimensions?

Well that is a GREAT idea.

Thanks!
Wallyworld has metal and plastic tool boxes often on sale pretty cheap.
As far as sealing the lids go whey not use that thin foam tape sold for sealing out
cold air around doors and windows?

Just a thought.

I don't store my ammo outdoors anyway.

I use the Mil issue box's for long term storage and keep a box for each firearm I have in a wood ammo box to use . As I don't get to shoot as much as I would like to sometimes ammo will stay in the wood box that is not sealed for years . I keep my ammo in the house where its climate controlled.

firearms?

I'm doing food goods, med supplies and such of course.

I'm a hunter, modern guns, black powder, archery, etc.

I have at least 100 rounds per gun, rifle and handgun, much more for what I
call general purpose arms, i.e. the .223/5.56, .22 rim fire, 12 bore shotgun.

Others that get at least 100 rounds (or more) are the .38 +P spl, .357 magnum, .41 and
.44 magnums .45 a.c.p. and .45 colt. ( I love handguns. )

For the .22 rim fire I have 15,000 rounds and climbing.

Why so many .22 r.f. rounds. Simple. Its the rounds I'll use most to harvest small game.

Small game will be more available and easier to harvest than deer.

Thoughts and suggestions always welcome.

Oh! I have a .50 caliber Optima inline and a .58 replica Zouave coming too.
I have lots and lots of Swiss, Goex, and Elephant (yuk) Holy Black powder.

The Elephant works but is nasty dirty, far worse than even Goex.
Swiss in premium and EXPENSIVE today.

I paid $7 bucks a pound and today it's $25 bucks or more.
I store ammo in small, easy to carry pelican cases, then put the small pelican cases into a lage pelican case that could be lifted into a vehicle by 2 people. I put oxegyn absorbers inside the small cases and store it all inside where it is climate controlled. I also like the pelican case because I can lock it up. Weather and storm proof. Screwed for fire LOL. I find that the 5.56 and 9mm boxed ammo fit perfectly in the small cases. Larger calibers not so much, but that is just my OCD I will have to get over.
