We've decided to pass 2014 for regional or national Meet & Greet events. It's summertime already and I dont' have the time to plan or attend anything. It's also half way through the year, so we want to give as much time as possible for people to get time off or handle whatever logistics they need to deal with.

Please keep in mind, this will be starting 2015. Please take into account your personal situation, kids in school, animals that need care, crop harvest times, etc.... It's not just about weather for some of us. One way or another, please think this over and make your voice heard. You can even post something to add a little more detail if you wish. Let us know what you're thinking.

We have every intention of growing these events as much as possible. We need them to have solid attendance and we need to make sure they're enjoyable in order to get folks interested in joining us. It's all about a good time and getting to know each other. Who knows... Maybe we'll even learn something while we're there!;)

I only selected fall because it's my favorite time of year. I would find a way to get to it at whatever season was most convenient for everyone else.
In the mean time, is anyone in North Carolina interested in getting together for dinner sometime?

im interested in m&g's be it regional or national Meet & Greet events..im thinking we're way to close to a shtf situation not to be prepared in every way possible...and the more preppers we know and trust before hand, the better..im almost to the point with my garden where i can just let it go for now.but yet im haveing trouble with the van..so me going some where right now.is out of the queston for me going out of town...

P.S. times like this proves that having a back up vehicle is a all around best idea...

Jim, you should still place your vote for the 2015 M&G. We only have half of 2014 left.

Is there a way to post a link for this poll at the top of the home page so more people will realize it's here and vote?

Okay. I'll be keeping an eye on the results for a while...

WHO IN THE WORLD VOTED FOR WINTER!? I actually felt like leaving that one off the poll, but figured cold weather training is good for the mettle, so maybe a M&G in the cold isn't a bad idea, either.

Keep posting this in the chatbox too, if you would. That way we keep it in front of members.

We'll be posting a "Banner" up there to keep it in front of people, too. I need to get with Clyde about that. Thanks for the reminder.

Alabaster,

You've pretty much got my backing on a national one. Let me know if you want me to do some courses or lectures. Maybe we can get Doc Pops and Warriorhealer to jump on board, where we offer some basic medical skill sets. I certainly with this much time can start to work on getting some vendors, if we want this to be a big affair. Like I said, I'll wait for you to move before we tackle the agenda issue, since you and others need to decide date/place.

For me, I have to vote for Mid June-Early August because of work. If we're outside that window then I might not be able to pull it off until the Xmas holidays, but don't think anyone will vote sitting in snow...lol, unless you all want to make it up at Tellerude, then I can show you all how to Snowboard! lol, Roninsensei and ShadowKnows...you up for some snowboarding! Alabaster, if you make it near Disneyworld, sure me and not speaking for Shadow, but I am sure he and his wife would enjoy it. Then I'll have another excuse to go to the "Magical Place".

Wasn't me Alabaster, I voted summer, but I could be evil and lol vote again!...however, I've been dying to use the Gopro camera again. I've got my butt hanging off the surf board when I went to Hawaii, nice pic of me falling 20 feet and board kicking up into the air. Think it would be a gas to do it on snowboard, my kids love it. Who say's the aged are not ageless, I think its priceless! Later buddy

oh,please lady luck, gimme the right numbers in the lottery and I'll book a open ticket to USA straight away
if it's in winter should I take my skies with me??

Me too Jontte, I hate the cold these days but used to ski every weekend and it would be fun to have a go again and it would be great to actually meet people.

Almost mandatory where I live as I couldn't even get into town without a vehicle. In order of size we have

International ACCO 6x6 truck
Landcrusier 4x4
Suzuki 4x4
2x Honda SL230 motorbikes (road/trail hybrid)
2x Mongoose folding mountain bikes
4x Scarpa walking boots :)

Gotta go, need to buy a lottery ticket.

It's easy to buy vehicles (or any stuff), my challenge is to learn to grow food and I think you are well ahead of me there.

I know a good spot of a national or regional meet and greet next year. I know another website aimed at planes uses one of those camping sites buildings at the New Holstein Municipal Airport. Here are the coordinates to where exactly where the building is: 43.944221, -88.117404

Only because I wanted to do something fun and educational with my 8 yr old granddaughter. I'd never tried to grow anything myself before last summer. So I took her to buy a few seeds and a couple of bags of dirt, built a box in a corner of my yard and helped her plant them. Shocked me when they actually grew and produced food that she and I ate. It was all salad stuff. Since then I've read extensively and used a lot of what I've read. There are so many free gardening eBooks on Amazon for Kindle.

Looks like there are already 3 RVs there, will you have room :)

I can't believe how orderly the land is parcelled up into nice neat squares.

Well like I said it is part of the New Holstein Municipal Airport and this satellite view must have been from the Supercub.org New Holstien Fly-in from last year. I think a few pilots camp at the site during the fly-in. So the RVs aren't mine they must be the owned by the people attending the fly-in But if we got permission I bet we could use it. I could follow up in July when I go to the fly-in. There are hotels nearby from experience.
