this is a movie everyone should see,

After surviving a car accident, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wakes up to find herself in an underground bunker with two men. Howard (John Goodman) tells her that a massive chemical attack has rendered the air unbreathable, and their only hope of survival is to remain inside. Despite the comforts of home, Howard's controlling and menacing nature makes Michelle want to escape. After taking matters into her own hands, the young woman finally discovers the truth about the outside world.

Release date: March 11, 2016 (USA)

Film series: Cloverfield Film Series

Good Movie! I like that it keeps you wondering if Goodman is just a perve or not right to the end.

Yeah, it does a good job of that. He's really good at that role, too.

I was betting the perv.....

Oh me too...even when that person came to the door.
I'm thinking, man, he's really sellin' it...

Movie was much better than it got credit for.

I disliked the film. It was interesting for a while but couldn't hold my interest.

Apparently, they are making a series based on the events of both Cloverfield movies. It also allegedly reconciles the timeline problem, because in the second movie, an alien invasion hadn't happened before, which is off...

Apparently, this is explained by the aliens being multi-dimensional, and these two are alternate Earths. A bit contrived, and hard sell actually, but we'll see.

I love Cloverfield and just watched it twice in two days. We also watched the prequel that Netflix bought. It's impossible it has anything to do with the original or with 10 Cloverfield Lane. I think they are just taking provocative miscellaneous sci-fi movies and calling them Cloverfield to sell them.

I did learn that the monster has a name --- people talking about the movie Cloverfield call it Clover. Figures.

They are all connected.

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Their experiment in Cloverfield Paradox caused all the freaky stuff in the first two movies. The experiment brought Clover to earth.

Can't be: the Earth in Paradox was having a severe energy crisis. The New York City in Cloverfield was brightly lit and functioning normally. I read about all this -- Paradox was just a standalone that Netflix bought and it was altered a little at the end to put in a monster, but it bears no obvious resemblance to Clover. For that matter, 10 Cloverfield Lane isn't at all like Cloverfield, either. Gas attack? I don't like this idea of mooshing together movies that really have nothing to do with each other and pretending they do just to make money on the name. I want coherence and logical sense, and there was very little of that in Paradox, a lot of viewers complained. Great actors, but what about that sentient arm? That made no sense, nor did the worms and the metal ball inside the Russian.
