Its a wedge beveled knife so, the knife side is flat against the handle but sharpen with care..

Maybe it's just the lighting but that shadow indicates a decent gap from what I'm seeing.I'd be afraid to go for the thumb studs myself. But then, I wouldn't buy a knife like that lol. To each their own.

It's the lighting. The shadow should spot his own.. lol It's the shadow on the beveled edge.

"... With the power to cloud men's minds and render himself invisible, leaving behind the only thing he can never hide: his shadow."

Darn things will get you every time.

It's called the kiss by CRKT it's completely flat on one side. Really like it and haven't had any issues so far. The flashlight is a Surfire LX2 Lumamax I got for free from work.

I carry a sturdy knife with about a 3+" blade, either fixed or locking. A way of making fire, usually in the form of a "peanut" lighter. A miniature compass. A small vial of antihistamines as I had a one time reaction, and a couple summers where I seemed to have hay fever. And a decent, small LED flashlight.

If it is in the truck and you are at Walmart, then it is not EDC.

I carry a bus, a taxi, a restraunt, yes I EDC all three. Do you know what a taxi costs to get home from work or the farthest place you visit in the city? Carry that much and if your car breaks down at 2am you can leave it there and call a taxi then arrange for the car to be fixed in the morning. Does your bus/subway service have tickets/tokens? Carry enough for a round trip. Stash $50 or more in your on person hiding spot, enough to cover supper and breakfast if you have to stay somewhere over night.

Carry paper info of all your utility accounts and other important info in case your house burns down. Double this info on a flashdrive but print it out for when there is not a computer around.

Got a cell phone? Carry at least enough change for 4 phone calls.

Bus money, taxi money, payphone money, all cost nothing and no shipping required. The knives, flashlights, cell phones are all very nice to have but you must also think "situations" when planning your EDC.

And I can't say this enough, if it is not on you then it is not EDC, if you can't take it with you to the bathroom then it is not EDC.

I guess my EDC would fit in the wilderness catagory. The only time I get close to a city is when I have to take the wife to the airport or pick her up. My kit includes the usual, food, water, wool blankets, canvas tarp, small hatchet, Bowie knife, small animal snares, Case Trapper folding knife, fire making kit, sewing kit, extra cold weather clothes, small flash light, candle lanterns, Browning .22 with ammo, rope, fishing kit and other misc items. This time of year I also carry in each vehicle; tow straps, tire chains, snow shovel, Deadman (for when a tree isn't available to winch to) tool kit, more wool blankets and extra fuel. This winter I've had to use several of these items after getting stuck and having to walk several miles in below zero temps.

Very good point and I 100% agree but I would go further the original concept of EDC as develoed for preppers were the ESSENTIAL items worn on your person in pockets and hung on belts, EDC was NEVER in bags. So EDC as generally accepted would consist of
Side Arm plus Mag
Knife plus pocket sharpener
Multi Tool
Lighter
Compass
Watch
Wallet
Shades
Gloves
Hat
Flashlight plus spare Batt
Cell Phone
Length of Paracord
Banadana / Kerchief
Mini FAK
Cash
Keys plus micro gadgets

near as damn it.

Anything bag carried was NOT EDC its GHB, Go, Inch, BOB, Vehicle, Extra, Work etc
