Anyone who thinks they can depend on the government in time of crisis for "help" is delusional, ignorant, foolish and deserves to be disarmed and hauled away to a camp. Fortunately I'm in a very low population area. I'll take care of myself thanks.

Would you want to put your life in the hands of any organisation noted for its incompetence, ineptitude and failure at every hurdle, whose employees get paid whether they do a good job or not and who are never held responsible when they screw up? To them you are a number or statistic and a source of tax revenue. Please show me any government in history that puts protecting the people FIRST ahead of protecting themselves ( Think Greenbrier (US) or Corsham (UK) ) Relying on the state should be diagnosed as a suicidal tendency.

An example from the UK that made me choke on my tea when I heard it. A few years ago a microburst storm over Bostcombe in Devon UK dumped and immense amount of rain on this community located on the coast and the base of a very small steep sided valley. In under an hour so much water fell that the local river burst its banks and swept through the village trapping tourists and residents alike in buildings flooded to the first floor. A rescue operation was launched and the RAF, Coast Guard, Police and Fire Service made strident efforts to rescue everyone. TV showed FIVE helicopters equipped with winches lifting people from roof tops and flood water. All fine so far until someone being interviewed on TV said something along the lines of " Bostcastle was only one tiny village covering less than a square mile, but it took EVERY RESCUE HELICOPTER available in southern England and Wales to save everyone." The reporter asked just how many choppers were available and used and the guy responded FIVE.................................................................................... Five winch equipped helicopters to serve the entire south of the UK that day for a population of over 40 million people !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. People actually commented as to what would happen if the storm had deluged multiple communities at the same time and the consensus was many people would drown.

As soon as the cold war ended in 1990 the UK scrapped, sold or are closed down all of its Civil Defence systems and supplies. Thousands of 4x4s, trucks, pumps, rescue boats, generators, tents, blankets, food , fuel and medicine supplies, staff etc and simply passed responsibility to the Fire and Rescue services but with no increase in funding, training or manpower. Trust the government ???? You are absolutely 100% correct AD

it's kinda "funny" what I read here a couple of days ago,my prime minister belongs to "special" christian sect/cult that mostly likes to be among them self, which may explain why he ultimately shows more or less contempt for the rest ( while trying to hide it,same dude who promised to give his house to those mussies),well,it was an old gen rock star here who called him " the beast with four horns" and said;you can't trust that man to do anything good for you lot, only for his kind, you can't trust the gov to do anything good for you as it's lead by him, your only chance of survival is if you take responsibility for you and your family and expect only crap from this gov....
