Just wanted to say what you all would think if you know anything about the two Bowie condor makes one is called the speed Bowie and the other is called the Dundee Bowie would you say they are just wood walking and camping knives or could you see them being able to be a fighting Bowie

The speed bowie isn't as thick and is in my opinion more of a clip point that a bowie. The dundee is going to be more of your traditional style bowie. Heavy work horse.

think I will go for a Skrama when I get some extra money ;)

Ok the Dundee was the one I like if it is more along the traditional Bowie knife which was a fighting knife and camping knife would it work as a large fighter I ask because I have heard that some of the Bowie's that was made for campaign knife would be to heavy for a fighter

Since most fighting bowies are around 12 to 15 inches I think this one will be fine...
Heres a little history on the Bowie design. It has changed through the years pretty dramatically. The one Jim Bowie used on the sand bar fight had no hand protection but, he seemed to do just fine with it.

Cool video thanks really interesting I was looking at the Dundee but then I found one that looks like some of the older design of Bowie knife called a moon starker 9 ince blade with a clip point that could be sharpened pretty easy I think it would be about the size of the cold steel tell master I think it sold as a camping knife but would like to see what you all would say how it would do as a fighter

I love the moon stalker.. Great choice.

Cool Roninsensei glad you know something about them kind of put me in mind of some of the old school Bowie's that were in the video you showed me so in your mind would you do anything different to it to set it as a fighter

I removed the black crap off the blade, it's junk and just slows the cut and penetration. Then buff the blade so it cuts easier.

I could be wrong but isn't the back stuff the stuff that keep the blade from rusting since the blade carbon steel and how do you buff a blade don't think I have heard of that

okay, that same black is on the gi-tanto,how do you remove it "gently" so you don't end up with a garden tool??

Buy spray on paint remover. If you want rust protection then gun blue it, the paint they use causes too much drag for knife fighting. Also if your going to store the blade coat it in Vaseline.

Cool idea I don't know why but the moon starker puts me in mind of the early Bowie knife or even the ones in the moves about the long hunters the 1700 I think it could be a good one
