We're down to only one horse of ours now. Sold one, and lost one to age and cholic earlier this year. But, we'll have 5 boarder horses moving in, in December.

I know what you mean. My wife Wendy, has pretty much taken to the country life too!

And yes, her clothes even match her saddle and accessories too...she's just crazy like that.

As I was walking the streets of Laredo, as I was walking through Laredo one day, I spied a poor sheeple all wrapped in white linen, wrapped in white linen and ready to die.

We have many city folk that moved out here bringing its big city attitude until the first winter ;) I don't see much benefits from urban areas though I will say, between my wife and many urban preppers I have started my transitions into solar power something I am not overly keen on and still struggling with being a so-called modern prepper, for the sake of my wife it is an transition I must except. I have seen really good ideas from urban preppers regarding gardening in tight spaces and have taken note on some of the ingenuity.
I would second the welcome for information on gardening in small spaces. The closer to the house the garden, the less risk of predators regardless of the number of legs they have. In normal times, this isn't such an issue, but if things get tight, it might be nice to have the wife standing watch over my gardening from inside the house.

most of rural survival is just being stubborn, but there is a lot of knowledge to it that city boys take for granted. exp. fire-lighter, shelter-tent.

my 4 year old has a bad habit of sneeking up on horses from behind at her nana and papas. she is fearless like me, it is terrifying.

Na, not stubborn... Independence more like it ;) though being stubborn is a trait and nothing really wrong with it. We use to have city boys out here bucking hay, you want a break? na na na, we will provide launch and dinner but your going to buck between the morning due, we quickly weaved out the one's that really wanted to work, ain't a lot of city boys that can buck 12-14hr days.

lol 12-14 hours is a lot of anything for these guys.

hey ipods are great rhythm makers for splitting wood. CD's are great target practice. If it still works at 100 yards you are either really good or really bad you guess.
I personally like to use CD's as targets! especially for long range as the reflective surface helps my aging eyeballs!
