cali has 6 desalination plants (collecting dust) 2 of the 6 can produce up to 100 million gal a year, in the US we have over 300 plants working just fine with very little impact but cali who needs them the most are the one's dragging their feet... shame

dragging there feet no offence meant not they sent the water to the fish each storm they made them drop the water up in the north what they don't realize if the dams were not here there would be no water the valley in summer is really a dessert and swamp in wither the original plans when they made the dams was for 5 yr drought they now talking this can go on 7 yrs no water

yeah it is..i cant help but wonder..im sure that they aren't so dumb as that..or,are they? when it comes to getting plenty of water.

they couldn't stop the dams from being build and filled so they went threw endangered animal act

Same with the desalination plants, that's why 2 new plants never got a chance to fire up. As age old saying goes 'you control the water you control the people' but hey, that new rail system seems to be going good ;)

California lack of water is returning to it's normal weather pattern, when my wife studied the soil their cali has been dry for hundreds of years in excess of possibly 600 years from the soil samples, all the excess water California become a custom to since the late 1800s have been abnormal, in the 1950s cali knew they were on borrowed time and done nothing, they allowed the expansion to continue and unfortunately all the folks that own homes are and going to be hit hard, very sad.

so true id leave. bout price it bad though might not have choice
At least you can sell right now. If water is being trucked in, you won't be able to give property away. Remember, this is not an if it happens, just a how long till it does. I know that uprooting and moving is both tough emotionally and financially, but this is a train wreck of biblical proportions. My wife has barely forgiven me for moving away from her lifetime home, but now she is admitting that it made sense.

their is a city south of me that water is already being truck in and when they out saying that we be out of it has already hurt prices
I feel for you. There's going to be a whole lot of people hurting out there. Again, I can't believe they still water grass lawns out there!

I hate to appear hostile but why do these folks who grossly over farm So Cal and Grossly over abuse the water supply then blame everyone except themselves?, Its not the feds at fault its greed and stupidity. If you farm in an area that has droughts then you plan accordingly.

If you water what is a desert inevitably the desert will win out.

looking at the video I think the folks are simply living in denial and blaming the government and expecting the government to resolve the problem they created by being wasteful they sound like socialists.

I just heard a story from california where the fish won, and the court told a town to stop taking water from the river, but gave no other options for them. we have too many lawyers in this country.

England is very different we always get prolonged droughts in the SE but they are nothing compared with what you chaps get, AND we also have a national grid of rivers, canals, pipelines etc so we can move huge amounts of water around the country. Even in the worst drought we ever had back in 1976 the worst case scenario was the car washes were ordered to close and people told to water there garden with cans not hoses.
