Great idea for any vehicles going in the desert.

This is geography dependant but in areas that get a sea fret / haar / fog sweeping in during the early morning as it does in parts of the Atacama desert you can capture water from the air by stringing fine threaded large vertical nets . As the haar passes through water condenses on the netting and runs down to be captured in guttering and directed to ponds. The Pacific NW is also suitable in places I believe.

the pacific northwest would be very suitable in fact, we get so much of the famed London Fog here I want you guy's to take it back ;) though I was thinking in places like Arizona for something like this but like you say 'geography dependant' I guess the same holds true for places like Arizona

Fair enough point. Just saying anything would be better than nothing though. ;)

I always liked the idea of using a clear plastic bag and covering deciduous tree leaves with it. The sun condenses the water from the leaves through evaporation and collects in the bag. Then using a bandana or shirt as a filter. This will make about 0ne to two cups of water per day depending on the amount of sunshine.

Whats SUNSHINE ? never seen that in the UK, Rain, wind, dust, ice snow, sleet, haar, fog but not sunshine ? :)

Ha ha, Sorry Northern Raider, I guess I was speaking for my area. But then again, if you got rain and snow – you got water.
