People are complaining in NYC right now because the throw away gowns and stuff were all thrown in the regular trash. I think we all know what hangs around in the trash cans in NYC, between the rats and the roaches this crap will be spread all over the city.

so sensible of them...next time they propably throw away plutonium in the "normal trash cans"...

I personally do not trust the CDC as far as I can spit. If you all remember right they lost all kinds of deadly viruses this past year and only found a few of them. Makes me wonder if Ebola happens to be one of the vials they lost

Here is the rate of infection that a few folks came up with it pretty much is about as accurate as the real numbers. I have been watching this for months, and usually the ROI is very close to what the WHO is telling us for numbers. I would say we have 6 months to a year before it gets real bad. Plenty of time to stock up.

WHO: Ebola toll rises to 4,877 out of 9,936

Keep in mind, about 99% of these occur in west Africa, where there is no food, clean water, or medical assistance. Comparing Liberia to the United States is like comparing knives to babies.

Though HIV also came from West Africa and made it to our shores with a vengeance, 1.8 million currently have HIV in the US, 2,468,435 million have died in the US and to mention ebola spreads easier then HIV and kills a whole lot faster ;)

It's better to be safe than sorry, when that disease comes knocking on your door..or visits your neighbourhood..

sure hope so,but what my "CDC" have done here doesn't quite convice me they could handle it..their plans are over 10yrs old...heck I don't worry for me, it's my kids I worry about..

I certainly don't buy the conspiracy theorist crap but I do believe the government has made numerous missteps particularly in response and assurances, no, its not the black plague but can easily become a pandemic with the likes of the black plague and influenza, I do believe much of the reporting in and out of Africa is watered down as a means to quell fears. I also take the reported numbers with a grain of salt, I believe them to be higher.

Playing the devil's advocate here...

IF the U.S. Government wanted to get a widespread Ebola outbreak started here for, let's say, population control purposes, and in such a way that there were no government agency "fingerprints" on it, what would they do differently from what they are doing now?

Though there is far easier ways to control the population then to perpetrate a virus upon its citizens, such a wide spread conspiracy couldn't be contained within the circle, Everyone including the government knows nature can't be controlled nor contained only an act of GOD holds that power.

but the conspiracy people will have a field day with this ebola and how it's handled or not handled....

As a resident conspiracy theorist, I think the only conspiracy theory here is the attempt to cover up just how unprepared the CDC is for any real outbreak threat in the US. In addition, the Ebola issue has shone a light on just how inept the organization is and how unorganized.

it's amazing how something like this surprises some big organisation who's supposed to be coverd for surprises..long gone planning..plans a-z...yet it comes as a surprise,as long as panic is kept out of the equation things should be mostly ok

Just remember guys that this last Doctor that was positive was in NYC that means lots of stuff went in the sewer what lives in the sewer??? Rats, roaches, and even bums. So will it spread??? I would imagine. Those rats are going to walk through it and then walk all over peoples beds, and even food, and then people will eat the food and sleep in the beds, and so on. NYC is soon enough going to be having some more Ebola patients I would imagine that had nothing to do with other patients.

I feel like the CDC has absolutely no clue what they're doing. Nobody is prepared, not even the nurses and doctors who are handling the patients who are infected. It is sad and very dangerous at the same time. I also find it kind of hard to keep up with everything that is said. One news stations says that and the next says something completely different. I did, however read an ebook not too long ago, that did go to the basics of Ebola quite well. It also had a prepping section in it. It's called the Ebola Pandemic by some guy named Brad Shaw. Maybe somebody has heard of him. Here's the link if anybody wants to check it out. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ML160SM

right now,I'm worried, very worried, some one came back from west-Africa to Finland, spent 20 days among gen.pop, now they are transporting that person to the hospital here in Helsinki with all symptoms of an ebola patient...

the preliminary report just came in...seems like we dodged the bullet this time...not thanks to our screening of people flying in..mearly luck this time, final results should be available later this weekend
