It was about 80 today and sunny. Now it’s gonna be in the low 60s for most of the next week and rain until Wednesday. I have some choice words for it, but &#/+@, I’ll keep them to myself.

But, the garden could use a little rain....
 
Yeah, I’ve been dragging a hose every two days or so to keep everything happy. I really should set up some heads in the greenhouse to make watering easier, and will get around to it eventually. One big plus is I am having a well drilled right next to the greenhouse and garden in about three weeks. While I’m running the lines for it I will probably add a line into the greenhouse then. We, my son and I, decided to put our solar project on hold and go ahead with the well instead. I figured that another source of good drinking water was more important than the little bit of power the system I planned would provide.
 
You will love having a well Brent. At least we do, mainly cause it makes are lives so much easier when watering all the critters, but for the garden too. Your plants will be much happier without all the extras they add into your main water lines now days.

I went to the fabric store yesterday and stocked up on the next grandbaby quilt material. Next little girl due Oct 25th so thought since it will be raining, that's what I can be working on. I started doing some today and it's going pretty quick. Doing a Carpenters Star 24" block with a few boarders around to bring it out to a baby quilt size. Kids want to do the nursery in blues, aquas, and taupe so it's kinda a challenge to make it girly. They live at the beach so trying to make it " beachy" looking with waves. I'm throwing in some corals and yellows so crossing my fingers.

my head is still hurting so had to break out the generic vicodin. If that doesn't do the trick, there's 2 bottles of wine in the fridge and some Vodka in the liquor cabinet. . . I'm almost at that point, but not yet.
 
Sorting out a few planters for one or two things, just to keep my hands dirty really more than providing anything. I've got some Sweet Potato slips on order that will be delivered in May so I need to get plenty of compost to fill the pots.
It's good to read how everyone else is doing. I always get a kick out of reading how far ahead Brent and danil are. In a normal year I would barely be getting going just now.
 
My cantaloupe died...something ate my cucumber, but my kale, lettuce and tomatoes are thriving. I also have milk week growing up in the raised bed. I thought I had moved the bed over far enough, but I guess not. I plant it so I can give a place for the Monarchs to multiply.

Hope you got that headache sorted out. Sometimes a shot of liquor and a nap is the best thing for one.
 
Made a few passes with the new tiller last night. Our garden area has never been tilled before so it's a little hard going. But the tiller is doing a good job. I think after the first tilling it will get easier.
I picked up some more blueberry and grape plants yesterday. It didn't freeze last night for the first time in awhile. Still way to early to plant anything yet so I'm keeping the trees and plants in the barn at night.
 
This so far been our weather here Washington so gardening can be challenging at times then take into account our short growing season,

Yeah, we are thouroughly soaked here. I was working outside and after three hours it changed from a drizzle to a more steady rain so I decided to call it a day. All our work right now is outside so I’m just taking it easy for now. Luckily tomorrow is supposed to be nice, so the guys can be out in the bucket truck again.
 
Today I finished planting the fruit trees (apple, cherry, plum), grapes, blueberries and raspberries. Couldn't find any blackberry plants for sale this season. Tomorrow I'll start planting the strawberry, asparagus and horseradish. It might still be a little early yet, but I'm going to start planting the peas, green beans, carrots, potatoes and corn.
Last week I seeded a few acres of alfalfa, clover, timothy and oats.
