With the number of people in the world today, and the rapid rate of travel we can move around with its only a matter of time before we see a massive pandemic. I honestly feel that it's one of the more likely causes of shtf.

the only way is to stop travel from there, stop every incoming traveler and place them in quorantine,as it looks from here they have little to none luck in stopping it.
oh,the wonders of rapid travel, spreads the shit fast too.
that plague has a mortality of nearly 100%,if it's not treated propely and with treatment still kills,if interested.

we know we are in some deep doo-doo,when "officials" collect bodies and paint a white cross on the door of your neighbor to indicate it has visited that place.

personally I wonder if it spreads, how good are the health officials for ex here prepped or do they sit in their office and pray it would stay away?
and when it's pneumonic, what kind of protection is needed?

A smart country would ban travel from any region with the plaque.
how about imports? We still need trade, and so do they. It affects both areas economies. That and businesses care more about their money than they do health and safety.

Just quarantine all the affected countries and let it run it's course.
They and the world will complain that we aren't sending enough 'relief'. It's one of those damned if we do. damned if we don't things. American and other 1'st world (if I am allowed to use the term) philanthropists will go over to save the children but will expect full rights to come back and demand it even...

The local custom is to dig up the dead bodies of relatives and dance with them.... seems like you could catch a whole lot of bad stuff from doing that.

There isn't anything that comes from the affected countries that we couldn't live without. I don't give a sht if other countries complain that we aren't sending enough "relief". Let the complainers pick up the tab for a change. The US tax payers have already sent trillions of dollars to these corrupt cesspool countries in Africa. It's time they get weaned off the US tax payer. Keep the disease there and let it run it's natural course. If some bleeding heart philanthropist wants to go over and spend his own money, fine. Just pull his passport and keep him there.

While I agree, I don't want or need their imports big businesses will rely on them and get whatever they can to make a buck. That and they want OUR imports for sure, and our businesses are going to do what they can for the same reason. I think it's sad and immoral.

I feel like tax, tariffs and prohibitions from the respective governments wont do anything to control an epidemic fast enough with businesses being so damn greedy. (and don't get me wrong, usually in the broad sense I love big businesses personally)
