We just have hazy grey sky's and smoke too. It does make for some beautiful sunsets though. No fires close by yet. A couple of weeks ago we had some dry lightning without a drop of rain. Since May we've had just over an inch of rain total, nothing since early June. (We did get 6" of snow in May and a half inch of snow in June.) Our pond has dropped about 3 feet so far and our springs have slowed down some too. The long range forecast for this area is calling for possible thunderstorms by mid August. I shot a rattlesnake the other night in the back yard and the muzzle flash kind of worried me because of the dry weeds.

Fires are bad shit, back in the early 80s I rode a horse thru a huge fire, about a 1 mile long area it covered at least 20 sq miles,,,me I was scared shitless at times the fire was less than 20 yards away,,my old mare was a ROCK she went thru that fire like she did it every day,,,she was the best trail horse I ever saw or owned,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,watch your butt up there and keep us posted

Saw some video of Californians basically driving on a road where HUGE fires are blazing right to the side. Why? What's so damn important? Even we Floridians know that's a bad idea, and we're the "hold my beer" state!
