I bought another milk crate and more water bottles to go in it. I purchased a mess kit and a water filter (Sawyer brand recommended on this site) for my BOB. Threw out more junk that was in drawers. Had my better half get rid of a bunch of wires from electronics. We went from a large tote size to a tote that is probably less than 1/4 of that size.

We picked a couple more 27 gallon totes up at Costco, plus a(nother) shelf unit for preps,

My better half took one of my workbenches and had me get it into the basement. It's going to have a freeze dryer sitting on it tomorrow.
I'm really excited to hear how well it works!

Something tells me it'll be running before dark, unless it was damaged in shipping. They shipped it from Utah. Some genius at the freight company thought we lived near Mobile, and we live just about as far from Mobile as you can get and stay in Alabama. Then, it was sent to the local terminal, where it has sat since July 5th......

The company that made it said to be sure to open it to check for damage. I bet the driver's gonna hate me tomorrow between 9 and 12......

Ok, I am still so excited that I had to post this! I have wanted a jeep my whole life, but was always too practical to waste the money on a toy. Well, I found a Japanese Mitsubishi jeep that was imported just four months ago. These things were licensed by jeep to be made in Japan, and were just like the old Willis jeep, but modern with some technological improvements. This one has a four cylinder diesel, two batteries for a 24volt system, and old school jeep looks. I will get it tagged tomorrow and can't wait to start taking it out! I drove it two hours Bringing it home the other day, but can't wait to try out the 4wd. Who needs air conditioning and comforts? Being able to carry more than two people, who has that many friends? It actually does have two little fold down jump seats, but I will be damned If I'd ever sit in one of them. At least it does have a heater for wintertime. Seriously, I don't like cold! The right hand drive with shift on the left was weird for a few minutes, but not too bad to get used to. All joking aside, I am thrilled to have a tough little truck! We took the top off, but it does have it for rainy days.

That's cool Brent. I had a Suziki Samuri a number of years ago which was about the same size. It had such a small engine, it maxed out at around 60 on level ground, but because of the light engine, it would go just about anywhere a quad would go...maybe some places a quad couldn't. It could climb like a billy goat. It was a beast! The kids always loved riding in the back with the top down. There was a folding/removable back bench seat with seat belts. I had a full cloth top and a bikini top that just covered the front seat.

I think the bikini top is a must with the heat. We can order it direct from Japan or I may take some pictures and see if someone local can make one reasonably. This has three holes in the bed, so I am assuming there was a bench bolted down at one time. I will probably add something before long. Like I said, the two little fold down seats make the ford ranger back seats look spacious! Was your Suzuki a right hand drive diesel too?

my prep of the day was getting this awesome survival Grenade kit they have a promo on right now and you can get it for FREE i highly recommend it to any prepper ill post a link to it.

Ok, now I'm believing you are spamming the board and already commented elsewhere on the exact post, this is the 4th exact post I ran into @theproprepper !

Started on the power plant building today. Got the floor done and ready for the generator. The generator is supposed to arrive on Friday. I had it shipped to the saw mill in town because the delivery truck wouldn't be able to make it up our road.
Next week the solar panels, battery bank and inverters should arrive. I need to buy a 15' length of 8" schedule 40 pipe to mount the panels on. The solar panels will be located 500' from the generator building. Had to go with an extra panel to make up for the power loss over that distance.
Construction on the cabin will start next week.

Sorry Brent, but I'm not so sure that I'd want to see you driving around in your Jeep in a bikini top.

No, small 4 cylinder gas engine. Very small.

The thing was so light that when I was having alternator problems (belt slipping) , I could open the door and get out and push it with one hand on the steering wheel and then jump in and pop the clutch to start it.

Yes, the Bikini Top made it bearable to drive in the heat of summer. It was actually my primary vehicle for several years.

I ordered a self start jumper cable. You don't need to have another car to use it. I also got regular jumper cables & a new car battery ( a couple of weeks ago ). So I should be prepared for a dead battery situation :)

Be careful leaving it in the vehicle in the winter time. Freezing temperatures will ruin a batter that just sits. but being in Texas you probably don't have to worry about that like I do here in Michigan.

Brent, I am really happy for you. I love Jeeps(wranglers). Every time I get one my wife makes me sell it for bills or what ever emergency that is happening. Doc, I have always had an interest in the Samuaria every since I saw it for the first time in Georgia when I was active duty.
