Because of time constraints and age I have to hire a contractor for all the big projects. But I still have the power station, wood shed, ATV shed, barn extension and the chicken coop to build. These I'll do myself. Also have several miles of fencing to rebuild after this winter and a bunch of new fencing to put in. Then we'll start bringing in the cattle. So you're welcome to come out and help.....
I'll sure do it.it will have to be around July though

IMG_20170313_135001.jpg second window added into the old part of goat barn so I can see the spiders coming now!! Actually I am more inclined to actually cleaning it out everyday by sweeping the walls & loft area. It has a lot more light coming through. While I was at work yesterday, Hunny took an old plastic gutter to put up against the interior wall so I can use that as an additional feed through. Not sure how long the plastic will hold up with babies jumping on, but hey it was scavenged so only cost was about 6 screws that is holding it up. Other than that, just playing in the garden.

Half of the things I build come from recycled stuff. As long as it turns out well, no one ever even knows.

I built a strawberry trough out of old tin and its working great. But today , I fixed a ragedy tractor, hipped dirt on the potatoes fertilized corn, pulled all the onions and strawberries. Got some lettuce in for supper. I just finished smoking my hogs I'm killing this year. Gonna be a real smoking salad tonight...mmmmm mmmmmm.

By the way ,if I take a BLT on toast with cheese and stir it up real good it suddenly becomes healthy when its stirred up.
. What's up with that crap?

Well a lot of our snow is melting now finally. Unfortunately where I parked the tractor after the last plowing, it turned out to be on top of a sinkhole. When the frost went out of the ground the tractor sunk. It's now under 5 feet of mud. May have to get a crane to get it out. Of course the road is still under water in many areas so it will be awhile before I can get any help.

That sucks dude...well I got the south side of the garden ready to plant. Got my irrigation plumbed and ready, so that assures yall that it will rain all summer, (probably since I pissed away a bunch of money on irrigation.) I got another bent built on the house .picked up all my plumbing and electrical supplies. So I am ready to plant and watch it grow.
p.s. I love the smell of fresh tilled dirt

I am so sorry about your tractor Artic, just be thankful you have a way to get it out! Bill's garden is looking nice though! It was such a beautiful day out so played out in my garden. Tilled up some rows for planting and others I am still building up with compost and others adding in mulch to till in. Planted cantaloupe, watermelon, honey dew, beefsteak tomatoes, bell and banana peppers, butternut, spaghetti & st neck squash & 3 rows of G 90 corn. Still have more corn rows but had to stop and do some housework and since I washed our bed sheets, needed to get them off the line and make the bed up. Thank goodness we had leftovers for hunny to eat tonight. . . tomorrow is another story so will have to cook. Wanting to go to the churches garage sell in the morning though. . . looks like they have a lot of stuff and it will be raining in the morning anyway. Should clear off so I can get some more planting done Saturday. Wait and see at this point.

Ouch! I'd be interested in seeing Picts of what it takes to get it out.

I have a third garden plot that still needs to be tilled up, but have the greenhouse loaded with stuff, and half of the main garden is planted now. I'm planning to plant a load of peanuts in it when anyone gets some in. I finally got asparagus to grow on my third attempt, and am eating a good bit of it now. I don't even bother cooking it, just eat it fresh or cut up in a salad. Still am patiently waiting for that first tomatoe this year. It will be a while as my plants are about two inches tall right now.... I also planted three more pear trees recently. I'm still plugging along with the gardening but time is scarce now.

Might be a good idea to have mavs wife look at the ground before deciding where to put the house!

danil..i hope that you didn't plant to soon when it comes to this storm blowing through
This storm is mainly passing north of me so I should be just fine. When feeding tonight, there was a cool breeze coming off the Gulf but it is a Southern breeze. We have expected rain until tomorrow morning but the temp are fine. Just thankful I am not bring out the milk jugs anymore!

Right now there's quite a stream of water running right through where the house is going. In fact there is water running everywhere from the snow melt. Yestersday we had rain/snow mix here at the house site. On the higher elevations of the ranch was all snow. Once the house is built I'll bring in some good topsoil to backfill up to the foundation. That will divert any water in the future.
